This is the time at which I wish there was a 0-10 rating scale rather than a yes/no. The game is not bad and the progression is clear. As far as clicker and incrementalist games go, this is actually a very complete-able game, which is not often said about this genre. However the amount of things to do in the game are really rather limited beyond feeling like a glorified autoclicker. The challenges and purchases for it are scaled oddly and the attack/defence numbers don't really make sense in the grand scheme of things. I can't, in good heart, recommend this game. If you get it at a heavy discount with a bundle of things, then sure, but anything beyond that, it is probably not worth the money.
Summary
Short very simple strategy simulator of an ant hive trying to survive and grow. Pros + Easy to play + Cute Cons - Repetitive
Overview
Ant War: Domination is a short simple strategy simulator where you will spend most of the time skipping turns to fast forward the game as there is little to manage your anthill other than setting up a few sliders to determine the kind of work you want them to do. At the beginning you are also able to choose what kind of ants you want the colony to be, but overall it is only marginally helpful to start since when your level is high enough the sliders are more than enough to get you what your colony needs each day. Each day as your ants undertake the tasks set random events can happen, some of these will be fights that depending on your area can be very bad as they are able to decimate you ant populations so pick your fights wisely and retreat when they're too powerful. There are also upgrades that you can do to you ants that will help them be better in their jobs by finding and spending gems in the shop. Pretty sure this might have been a phone game previously. Other than working on the optimal setting for your colony most of the time will be spent in a simple loop as the game isn't very complicated. Manage hive settings, level up, maintain needs, move to higher better zones as needed, and rinse repeat. There is an end to the game but you have to reach a ridiculous number of ants culminating in your colony taking over the city. Ants are neat
I am so torn on whether to give a postive or negative review to this game.
This is a genuinely awful game but I love it so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much for no discernible reason. Do not buy it unless you're mentally ill.
Not a great game at all.
It is an okay game to pass time but it is still not worth getting unless it is on sale, and only if you really enjoy these types of games. I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid, but my taste in games has changed over the years. It doesn't even has Steam Achievements. I give it 4/10
It's a great way to casually burn some time. The mechanics are sounder than the other title Age of Castle Warlords. Stats seem to actually mean something and you can't buy your way to victory at level 50. All in all it's fine. https://steamcommunity.com/app/406080/discussions/0/5950985868220480874/ https://steamcommunity.com/id/EMDream/recommended/371710/ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2962300065
They turned it into a mobile game
What an absolutely ♥♥♥♥ game. I bought this years ago and despite my best efforts, I could never enjoy it. The game mechanics are horrible and it's just a gigantic waste of time. This is the game that made me discover the "hide this game' feature on Steam. Playing this game is like a less fun version of waiting to die.
