I am a big fan of the aesthetic of the setting and how gripping the conflict is through the narration, sitting in that briefing room really makes you feel the tension of all the wild ♥♥♥♥ about kick off! My only gripe, and it is very minor and heavily based upon my personal interests, gameplay on the infantry level is a little more like Unreal Tournament/Battlefront 2 than a Battlefield, which is by no means a negative! I do wish we were a bit more heavy because MAN some of these armor systems the guys are wearing are MASSIVE
Super fun game. It's like a more complex Star Wars Battlefront II (the original) with better space battles and extreme control on the loadout. Bring your friends in!

1.0 update is for marketing game is still very raw
Really confused how this game is so well received. Played this game as a group and it still was not good. Extremely janky gameplay that feels floaty and fast. The Ui is actually awful. Spaceship fights are bound to the ship entirely, no getting out unless you "board a ship" which is just pressing F on an objective zone, hitting a loading screen then your ship spits you out in the hanger to then fight objectives. Roughly 2 lobbies have enough players to actually play the game, basically 1 at night. Just a really bad bland game that feels dated day 1 in all the worst ways. Do Not Recommend. Unless you're bored with friends, then make sure you don't go over the 2 hours refund.
Finally a planet side 2 successor. Feel more like Battlefield / Battlefront, but with the same vibes as PlanetSide 2. The game needs some optimization, but overall, its great for the price.
Basically how Battlefront 3 would have looked in 2010, with all the pros and cons that entails. Pros: Bot support Runs well Lots of features No microtransactions Cons: Somewhat dated combat feel (Somewhere between Battlefield 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2) Some balance problems Small but dedicated playerbase
Good ol' janky fun. Reminds me of the golden age of modding, when Unreal wasn't some financial juggernaut and simply a modding platform for creative dorks.
First impressions: Too complicated, un-intuitive, and WAY unbalanced. However, I respected the devs dedication and played a few games, started with infantry to get a feeling for how it works, played around with fighters, then moved to commanding/capital ships. Second impression? I'm hooked. Yes, it takes a bit to figure out, the controls are a bit janky, and the whole "target" to be able to see enemies is a low point, plus, figuring out loadouts was a lowgrade nightmare (suggest just picking one, and fiddling with it till you figure out what you like). HOWEVER Once you get it, damn, you can't stop. Every little achievement feels like a victory worthy of an awards ceremony. Some highlights: -Learning how to board enemy ships, making my way to the bridge with my bot squad(tm) and lighting up that pilot before destablizing the core. Sprinting to the hanger to steal an enemy fighter so you can make it out alive? You feel (figuratively and literally) so alive. -Learning to command space battles, which curbed the random chaos into a strategic offense. Targeting certain objectives, calling on fighters to form up on my bomber, and weaving through rigging to throw off tracking rockets as I made my way to blow up the defenses? That's a rush you really can't get in most space battles nowadays, commanding your fleet WHILE piloting WHILE weaving through a structure. -Dropping into the streets of a war torn city, clearing bunkers and claiming drop zones while I sent my bot squad(tm) to go secure the nearby objective. Having a dropship land beside you and light up the enemy forces with a chain gun, right as you're about to fall back? Stuff from a movie I'm telling ya. -Realizing how much customization the game allows, from bot difficulty level, to map line up, to loadout choices, suddenly everything fell into an organized strategy. Sure there are some weird and unbalanced items, yeah sometimes you feel like a redshirt, but when you get a loadout that suits you, you feel like a ODST. Honestly, I almost threw in the towel half a dozen times with how confusing it felt, but I'm SO SO glad I didn't. Their discord is a huge help, the tutorials will save your life (mute the annoying "assistant"), and go take on the world of AFF.
BF2142 + Battlefront 2 classic + Homeworld 2. Did i wish for more?
15$. Full combined arms warfare. Original setting. FULL OFFLINE BOT SUPPORT!! 10 years in development. Star wars battlefront 1.5. Unreal engine 3. If that's not enough to get you to buy it, read some other reviews, or wait for me to write a creative one.
