Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 18 → 6.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is one of the purest survival horror experiences ever made. This isn’t a game that relies on cheap jump scares — it builds fear slowly, carefully, and relentlessly. From the moment you step into Brennenburg Castle, you feel vulnerable. There are no weapons, no way to fight back — only your mind, your sanity, and your ability to hide. 🧠 Atmosphere & Fear The atmosphere is absolutely unmatched. Darkness isn’t just visual — it’s a mechanic. Staying in the dark affects your sanity, but stepping into the light can expose you. That constant tension creates a unique kind of fear that very few games achieve. Sound design plays a massive role. Distant noises, footsteps, doors moving… your imagination often becomes your worst enemy. 🎮 Gameplay Gameplay is simple but incredibly effective: Exploration Puzzle solving Hiding and surviving The physics-based interactions make everything feel more real, whether you’re opening doors slowly or desperately blocking a path to survive. 😨 Horror Experience What makes Amnesia special is how powerless you feel. You’re not a hero — you’re prey. Every encounter forces you to think, panic, and react under pressure. Even today, it still holds up as one of the most terrifying games ever made. 🏆 Final Thoughts Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a masterpiece of psychological horror. It doesn’t just scare you — it stays with you. If you’re looking for a true horror experience, this is essential.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME LIKE INTENDED. YOU WILL ♥♥♥♥ YOUR PANTS. Exaggeration aside, this has to be one of the greatest horror games of all time. Genuinely, why aren’t newer horror experiences like this? I watched Markiplier play this when I was a wee lad and honestly I shat my pants then and still am now as I get to experience this first hand. So if you want a REAL horror game experience, turn off your lights, close your windows, and enjoy the nightmare.
I procrastinated for over 15 years to finally play this game. Was it worth it? Yes. Amnesia still has some of the best mechanics and puzzles in a horror game ever, the story is interesting and it doesn't overstay its welcome. Also... The amount of jumpscares is just right. And that's a rare achievement these days.
SOMA is my favourite game of all time and it only made sense to play the Amnesia series from the same developer. I'm someone who doesn't get spooked easily but this game had sections where i was genuinely running for my life. The castle where the game is set is creepy as hell and has the same vibe throught the game. It has a great story too but I'm not a huge fan of stories being told through manuscripts that i need to find to piece things together. At the end, Amnesia The Dark Descent impressed me a lot considering how it popularised the genre.
Reviewing (almost) every game I own after 100%; part 4:
9h to play 12.2h to perfect (w/ free "DLC" req adding 1h) Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5/6 A MUST play classic, especially if you're a fan of psychological horror games. The tension this game provides is unmatched assuming you play in the spirit it requires (or are a scaredy cat, meow). The moment you look past the curtain the effect it provides is completely lost and impossible to get back. Pinnacle of atmospheric horror. I could praise every aspect however it falls short with its cryptic "puzzles", poor endings, and image trailing, which can cause a lot of motion sickness. You can turn it off but without it you lose the entire point. I just found myself standing still during dialogue to not feel sick. The endings don't explain much, even though I'm sure that is the point, I just wish it did a bit more. Obtaining the other endings can also be a little convoluted but I will say the game values exploration. As for the puzzles you'll get them or you won't, no middle ground. Some are very obvious and can even be solved by mistake, while others are randomly timed or the answer is something you have to think outside the box for, as it's something not used prior or after itself. This is where the game shows its age a bit but still sits very pretty up there. Achievements are all easy to obtain with the hardest being to complete the game on hard mode (Masochist). Once you playthrough the game once you'll be able to speedrun all remaining achievements quite quickly. The hardest part of the DLC (Justine) is honestly finding the ladder. BUT would I recommend it? well... Yes (better on sale), but it's worth the price and a game everyone should experience at least once if they're into horror. The game also has a huge list of player created stories (mods) for you to playthrough once you're finished the base game if you so desire.
Great horror game. 16,5/20. The big strength here is this obscure, mysterious and truly immersive atmosphere thanks to a creepy insidious sound design and fun physics engine system despite not all rocks and stuff being interactable which breaks the immersion and puzzles logic sometimes. ( Physics and interactivity in games are unfortunately more and more often forgotten nowadays ). The dreamlike art direction is good with really good confusion effects and systems with the darkness and light but too much areas and assets looks the same all over the game despite being in whole different areas where they should be in completely different conditions. The game setting and story are intriguing and helping a lot to strengthen the atmosphere even more.
