A nice little colorful ARPG. Since I really enjoyed playing the RPG game EMBER by the same developer, I just had to try ALUNA. It's just a nice little pastime for in between without great depth, don't expect a direct Diablo clone but a very slimmed-down ARPG, which can still be a lot of fun if you can get involved with the setting and the graphic style. I enjoy it and every now and then they play ALUNA for an hour or two ... Small price, small Dev. Team, great little game :)
Short review after completing the game on Hard difficulty without changing it: one of the hardest game to recommend beacuse of just how inbalanced it is however the care and the visual theme and enviroments do sell the game for me altough not the best indie ARPG out there. Pros: - Great graphic for an indie title with beautiful incan/latin/spanish theme and enviroments set in the conquistador arrival on the new world - Good music and good voice acting and a lot of it for your main character and npcs, even mobs have some voicelines midcombat, very impressive for an indie title - Cutscenes told by awesome comic sliders giving the game its own flair - A function dodge roll that works, indies got it right before AAA - You can refund your skill points anytime for a small gold cost Cons: - No balance at all in loot (way too many drops and only 2 real tiers of loot, magic and legendary and no sets sadly) - No balance in your own skills (some skills have no cooldowns at all making them broken), some skills have way to long animation lock, the funiest one is the meele highest lv skill which pulls and damages all enemies to you...and while you are animation locked if those pulled enemies cast any aoe or hard hitting skill...dead. - No balance in enemies (elite enemies can oneshot you easily - an elite bear has an aoe attack that covers half of the screen that hits for 3/4 of your health and is instant cast without any telegraph...fun, even normal ranged enemies have aoe attacks that can nearly kill you... 2 of them cast it... you are dead, the only warning you see is slight change in their animations and mind you i played meele build with high hp and armor most other build are probably insta dead) - Very small skill tree for 3 classes I can recommend only if you play on easy mode so you can enjoy the great enviroments and themes as on the mehanics alone the game does not stand, however if you wanna play on hard i used leap as main skill with armor that makes it deal double dmg almost oneshot any normal mob and its aoe, combined with ring that allows permanent thorns and in meantime spam whirlwind which is aoe and bleed which has no cooldown and to top it all ranger skill poison so all your dmg also poisons.
Cool Hack n' Slash. Standard gameplay in a rare setting with an excellent implementation. Aluna doesn't reinvent the wheel, instead it satisfies the genre expectations. - Fluid controls, though the dodging is odd and the least likely way I would choose to do it. - Varied mobs, clearly separated by looks, biome, abilities and modus operandi. They often fight each other, to rob you of the XP. - Lively scenes. Level design is old-school, linear yet tortuous. The map overview is terrible though; the only real flaw of the game. - Colorful world and art, highly enjoyable. A zoom lets you ogle the details; I always appreciate such feature. Animations and sound on par with visuals. Polished low budget, talented team, excellent value for money. - Good loot, unusual in the genre. Classically over-itemised, but easy to compare once used to it. Abundant drops; well balanced rate and scale of improvement; specials that actually feel special... Rarer yet, the merchant is useful. Can't remember last time I had bought gear from a Hn'S - or even an RPG - vendor. - Powers are fun to use and make you feel mighty. Rate of acquisition is well-paced. You can also respec. - Even the boss fights are well done, fun, engaging, treated like any other fight, i.e. without the multi-stages grindy corporate BS you find pretty much everywhere else. That is, except for the last boss fight. Which becomes corporate for no reason. The Singularity, in gaming, will happen the day Developer Intelligence becomes so advanced, it understands that game finales are not meant to be endurance marathons. Neither physical endurance (thumbs, carpal tunnels) nor mental endurance (numbing repetition of patterns, of kills, of unskippable cutscenes, of anything that artificially lengthens.) The former kills momentum, the latter kills the fun and buries earlier good memories. Which is why I'm writing this review with the game on pause, while I decide if I can be arsed to beat the last bullet sponge or not. Solid recommendation for mindless but nifty action.
A tematica do jogo sensacional.
In this video I take a look at Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards, a third person hack'n'slash adventure game. This title is based on the Aluna comic books so the story is rich with lore and the cut scenes use animated stills from the comics. The game play is like Diablo so most people should enjoy it. You can select from a story mode for easy combat to hard for the experts and I try it on normal in the video which I found very enjoyable. It has three skill trees, melee, ranged, and magic each with a range of special powers and perks you can earn. Coupled with the diversity of items you can find the combat becomes quite fun. I think it's a hit so take a look. Watch the video to see what the game is like... https://youtu.be/TeDfHRvOBeY Check'n Games Video Curation, providing you with as many Let's Play's as we can.
Nagyon jó játék.
Yeah, it has some jank for sure but it isnt a bad game.
