About
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Aliens universe. This is not a rescue mission – it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. Every room could be your last. Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens experience.

Join our Discord server, Marine.
Expanding from three to four players, AFE2 introduces deeper team-based mechanics that reward coordination and strategic class composition. New and improved classes each bring distinct playstyles and tactical abilities to the fight, making every squad combination feel different.
The iconic xenomorphs are more ferocious than ever before. AFE2's massive variety of new xenomorphs will force players to stay mobile, maintain situational awareness, and use every tool at their disposal. From stun batons for up close melee action in those most desperate moments, to pyro and electric ammo to whittle down the unrelenting xenomorph front before they overrun you and your squad, the battle can shift from calculated tension to desperate last stand in seconds.
Beyond expanded weapon and gear customization, AFE2 introduces the Specialist – a fully customizable class that lets players mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class. Build a loadout tailored to your exact playstyle and fill whatever role your squad needs.
AFE2 launches with multiple dedicated Horde maps that push squads to their limits. Battle through escalating waves of xenomorphs and other deadly enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as you survive deeper into the onslaught. This is where teamwork and skill are tested at their absolute peak.

This could end up being a really good sequel to Fireteam Elite 1. In its current form, it's a waste of money. Less content, buggy, what content IS there feels like it's just copy and pasted from the first. Missing classes from the first too. Just play the first.
I'm really enjoying the game. In fact, I was already a fan of the first Aliens: Fireteam Elite, so I had high expectations for this sequel. However, in my opinion, the game should not have been released in its current state. There are still far too many bugs, noticeable stuttering — even on a fairly powerful PC — and sometimes even some of the keys simply stop working. Despite all that, I'm willing to give the developers the benefit of the doubt. I want to believe that, over time and through future updates, they will be able to fix these issues, significantly improve the game's stability and performance, and ultimately turn it into the experience it should have been at launch.

Played the first for about 350 hours. Enjoyed it quite a bit. I've enjoyed this one with a cpl buds as well. If you played the first the classes are pmuch the same but with new names. Demo = Marauder, Lancer = Hunter, Machinist = Tech and so forth. The true new is the Specialist, which can equip every other classes skills. So mix n match. Weapons are cross class unlocked once @ 4 stars. I can't remember if this was the case with the first. There are a couple technical issues I've noticed. Sometimes you cannot pick up or open a consumable/chest. Not the ammo crate, just the secret and not so secret ones hidden about. I've only had 1 instance of being locked behind a door, as I went to deconstruct my turret, and this was on mission 7. Automatically got pulled back to the group due to cinematic but once in 30 hours is not an issue imo. The actual gameplay is good. More variety of aliens, some tough ones, and the pacing is good for a horde survival. Gotta use your kit; can't just pray and spray. There can be some issues with the larger alien's mechanics. Charge/Rush can sometimes be wonky. Consumables are more expensive when compared to the first but earning credit and exp isn't difficult esp with people using challenge cards. All and all a good start. The dev's can clean up some of the minor stuff with a patch and shine it up. Not sure why people are knit picking women, space lesbians and writing. This isn't shakespeare folks; ur here to smash xenos. Enjoy!
This game doesnt deserve the hate it got... its a building block from the first FTE which has alot of potential. Squad play is tight and intense as it should be - worth a chance if the hours are invest as it does get better the more you play it.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 expands on its predecessor, but its technical state at launch makes it incredibly frustrating to play. There is a brilliant, action-packed co-op shooter hidden here, but it is currently buried under a mountain of bugs, crashes, and performance issues. What I Loved: Bumping the fireteam size from three to four players is a game changer. It gives the combat a chaotic, movie accurate scale and allows for much better class synergy. Deeper Customization. The new Specialist class system, expanded perk boards, and extensive weapon modding feel incredibly rewarding. The Launch Day Frustrations: Constant technical issues. I faced frequent desync issues and severe frame rate drops during heavy swarms. The presentation feels incredibly stiff in places. NPCs frequently repeat the exact same cringey and lifeless dialogue lines over and over. Final Thoughts: If Cold Iron Studios rolls out aggressive hotfixes and performance patches over the coming weeks, this will easily be a must play for fans of the franchise but in its current launch state, it feels unfinished for the price they are asking. It’s a solid game worth playing with a dedicated squad of friends, and if found for a decent price, but only if you have the patience to tolerate early day technical jank or pick it up at a later date once the technical issues are fixed.
I enjoyed the first game enough to pay full price at launch to support Cold Iron Studios. While I'm confident it will improve eventually, it remains largely unplayable in its current state (v1.0.2a as of August 28, 2026). I'd recommend anyone considering purchasing this title wait until a later patch addresses the issues below: Critical Issues: - Cutscenes fail to exit and pause on the final frame; appears to be a Linux/Proton compatibility issue despite multiple workaround attempts. The only working solution is joining a PS5 host via cross-play (a native Windows host may also work) - Bugged doors split teams apart, blocking progression entirely - Dropping out as host and rejoining repeatedly breaks the game and blocks progression across Linux and PlayStation 5 platforms Annoyances: - Can't pick up items sometimes—retrying after a few minutes usually resolves this (doesn't affect ammo crates) - Couldn't equip major consumables until minor items were unequipped first - General Opinion: Unskippable cutscenes during repeated gameplay segments, along with pauses to wait for corny dialogue lines are frustrating even when they don't entirely block progression. I'll update this review in the future if/when game stability improves significantly.
Gameplay wise, if you liked the first game you'll like this one! The story is... Modern. Basically, you're butch commander wants you to save her gang of lesbians that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ around and found out. Now they gotta send a man (Me) to save them and they talk ♥♥♥♥ to you when you save them... Because that's what modern women do :P if you don't want to see their cringe cutscenes you can skip them and play the game and just tune their yapping out. Game runs smooth on controller but I noticed slight stuttering when using mouse and keyboard when looking around quickly.
Resupply or die, folks.
Very good COOP shooter, with some minor bugs.
