It's me again, ten years late to the party once more. How are you? Alan Wake 2 came out a few years ago, and I heard enough about it (and watched enough Twin Peaks) that I thought I'd start out at square one. What I found was a game that's mostly interesting for its story and atmosphere, but which had gameplay that gradually grew on me (but it might not grow on you). Pros - Atmosphere and sense of mystery pretty much unrivaled here Enough collectibles to reward you looking around, but not enough to overwhelm you Decent enough music and voice acting Cast of unusual characters to keep you interesting Different weapons actually play differently Will unsettle you more than a little bit Cons - VERY repetitive. Gameplay consists of going into the woods, get ambushed by two or three spectres, use flashlight, use gun. Occasional boss fight. Final boss is extremely underwhelming Story is convoluted and may not satisfy you. This could be a pro for some people Facial expressions are uncanny Not much variety in level design or landscapes This is a game I really liked, but you will know if you like it or not after the first hour or so. What you see is what you get.
