I don't like that it calls itself age of wonders and i don't really like the sector system. The game just feels like a bad mesh of things.
It's honestly one of my favorite games and I am kinda sad that they "only" did 3 add-ons for this. I think I prefer this over Age of Wonders 4 and Civ Beyond Earth :-)
played this back on PS4 still love it here now im normally not a fan of 4x4 games but this one i really love including the diffrent factions ive never played any age of wonder besides this one but i do love this one
Most of this games force you to micro manage each unit in battle. Some people find that fun but not me. That's why i'm glad you can auto each battle and move on in this game. And do more fun things like manage your empire. Another thing i love about this game is that you can play it with a controller without problems. Overall I had a lot of fun with this game. The only thing i found a bit boring was the campaign mode. I had more fun starting a new planet and picking a random race.
Great game, even now, mechanics and goals are well thought out
I liked all the options you get to make as a builder and explorer. Also it's pretty easy to learn, but haven't mastered it yet.
bought it on 50% discount. still a waste of money. no wonder this one is deemed worst in the serious by far seirously dont spend more then $5 on the complete edition
TL;DR: The game is fun, and worth getting. Wait until a sale if you are unsure. I definitely recommend this game. This was my first AoW game which allowed me to experience the title without any preexisting bias from previous titles. I have just as many hours on AoW4. In many ways I like certain aspects of Planetfall more than AoW4. I know this goes against a general mindset of traditional players of the series but there is very little that is bad about this game and most people that dislike it seems to be entirely due to it attempting something new. Many of these mechanics are even used in some form after being polished in AoW4. The only part that didn't feel the greatest to me was some of the campaigns felt a bit lackluster and some of the races are a bit unbalances such as the oathbound. I primarily enjoyed adding planets to my empire and the unlocking of artifacts, a feature I sorely miss in AoW4 as I feel a lack of achievement or maybe progression without that feature once you have completed all of the unlocks.
Amazing game with all the DLC. Wish I had picked it up long ago. Most everything I want in a modern 4x. Wish it had a few mechanics from AOW4 hopefully Planetfall 2 happens one day.
