Ok this game is fantastic. I am playing through the Kril campaign and its a perfect necromancer story. I enjoy the turn based combat and the intuitive play style. So let me explain; for me a good turn based tactics game allows me to explore strategies without having to default to some meta troops. Im rolling with the same skeleton archer I started with and he still comes in clutch for me!
Very fun and addictive game ! The price is a bargain for what ur getting, especially if the dev does keep developing content :) Hopefully he will :D
So I played more on the older version, and just replaying the original game at this point. Being the evil Necromancer is super fun: always having a cheap army at the ready only the dragons are really posing a threat to my army. I like the fact the world map has open up to do side missions and ignore the main campaign, I don't remember that being the case in the original game. Radial base movement is rare for tactical games, I can only think a handful of other games that use it. Your heroes are going to be your most valuable units, and because lost conditions are usually to the campaign's lead survival, you will be cautious in using them. The series routinely goes on 50% off sales, and can be run on the most resource limited machines.
It is a very good strategic game in fantasy universe as Dungeon and Dragon and with a mix of Heroes of might of magic games like.. The possibility to mod the game is great and increase the future of the game. The mains campaigns are long enough and not expensive if you buy this Age of Fear; Total because it includes all the campaign and extension of the all previous Age of Fear Game. There is also audio text for the campagin and it is good. I think that the campaign game is difficult even in easy mode but the open mode is easier. I like also the original faction as modern faction as "Marines" who have to fight against Fantasy factions. For me the only limit is the sprites units view which is in topdown view and I would like better a classicial view 2d as icon or other strategic or board games for units.
Good game.
Other reviews already say many of the positives and negatives of this game, so I will try not to repeat the same points. I like this game because I am an old tabletop RPG and war games player, and this game scratches that tabletop hitch. Some positives:

Plenty of factions, units, abilities, unit evolutions/upgrades, items, equipment, spells, etc.
Plenty of story campaigns. At the moment of writing this, the game offers eight full story campaigns and several DLC addons to specific campaigns.
Customizable game experience through plenty of options. Do you want unit permadeath? Want items to be equippable by all units besides heroes? Want units to suffer injuries that need to be healed over time? Want open world gameplay? Want to auto-collect all the available loot after a battle? Want to increase or shrink the default army size? Want units to have a chance of deserting your army if they are not happy? These and many more options are available, we can even change which dice roll is used for attacking, changing the combat calculations.
This game contains all "Age of Fear" game content ever released, plus all "Age of Fear" game content that will be released in the future too.
Modding and Steam Workshop support.
Other reviews already mention all the cons I would write in mine too.
Age of Fear is great and based. The silly scenarios included in this version of the game series are quite amusing and a fun challenge for veteran players.
laangweilig
First of all this is one great tactical game! It is very fun to play and very satisfying. Your Units gain experience in battles, can be upgraded to higher forms, renamed and with an option enabled can wield weapons and armor like the heroes, (How ever this can lower the difficulty) I never encountered problems with the game it is a solid engine that do not frees, have glitches even if I have it in secondary screen or alt tabbing. Of the Price, Age of Fear: Total is not one game! This is the combination of Age of Fear 1-4, Each have 2 mayor campaign and DLC content. That is a lot of content!!! I would recommend to try the Age of Fear Free open world, and if the Battle system is to your liking buying the Total Version. 60 dollar may sounds a lot, but it is the cumulative effort of the maker for 4 games dlc-s, and it is well worth it. For reference I like this game so much I have all the games separately, I bought the Total version to have all content in one place.
Great way to buy into the series. Just wish this had been around 8 years ago 😅 Great RPG tactics game with fun humor. At this point there's tons of content in the 7 or so campaigns over 5 games. Easy buy for anyone interested in the genre.
