Fundamentally it's a really fun game. It has built in multiplayer, lots of replayability, and interesting choices. However, the base game by itself is not the whole game - you need to buy expensive DLC that adds practically nothing, and if you don't have that DLC it still exists in the game but just locks you out, so you feel like you're missing out on a big chunk unless you shell out more money. There's also a major issue of having a separate launcher. It's unacceptable, it just shouldn't be a thing. Remove that and either drastically reduce the cost of the dlc or include it in the base game (as it should be) and I'd happily recommend this to everyone that enjoys the genre.
With each DLC this game sucks more and more ♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥ is unplayable rn in multiplayer. Multiple desyncs each combat. Cringe company only cares about you paying for DLCs. Fix the game.
God tier game with insane level of content, but very pricy. Get it and all dlc while on sale
Currently cannot recommend. They've made some fixes after recent updates broke towns and sauce desyncs. But there are still desync issues in some towns (Act 3 onwards?) that require repeated restarts of multiplayer games. You basically cannot progress, currency isn't used etc. So we've given up. I hope I can change this review in the next month or so, but definitely DO NOT GET THIS GAME in its current state.
Game is fun and been playing for years but the amount of recent bugs involving desyncs in towns and other menus is unbearable. A single run is taking at least 5 hard resets of the game to complete and some of the bugs lead to refreshed duplicate shops which is just cheating and invalidates any highscore boards. If these problems get fixed the game is good.
I have been having a lot of fun with this game but the constant desync/resync is getting annoying, the bugs getting annoying and sometimes unplayable,
Surprisingly got hooked to this when it first came out. Not sure what happend with the paradox acquisition and launcher, but loved it on release.
As of late, the multiplayer game mode began to suffer from frequent desync in towns and during the usage of the map event church, rendering it unplayable as you cannot purchase gear without having to restart the game, or remove cards without getting stuck on the church screen. Such problems began appear recently, as I don't remember experiencing them a couple of months ago.
Gutes Spiel!
they ruined it
