jogo é divertido, o rato (animal do jogo) é muito forte. Você nasce em uma ilha com o mar banhado em sangue dos inimigos. Jogo top, tem que melhorar a câmera que segue o personagem.
It's not just bad, it's terrible. Camera has inertia, for some reason, so the view flies around. Zooming out doesn't improve this experience, like the dev suggests. The bugs are strange, for example: The main menu doesn't pause the game, so you can hear your sword as you click to change options. Spelling mistakes. It's hard to know how to describe how bad the whole experience is other than saying that it plays like a bad Unity tutorial glued together by a 4 year old. I understand the dev is active, but I cannot take anything they say seriously because there is no hint of production quality or cohesive thought put into this game. I wouldn't waste even £0.99. Update: message for the dev: don't publish games if you don't know anything about making games. This game is proof of that. Read the room and listen to the other reviews. It's a really really bad game. You're really really bad at making games.
Игра норм, но сырая и очень простенькая для соулс лайков. Ну в принципе за свою цену по скидке поиграть весело :)
This game is vary good! It also looks awesome!! The boss fight was great! you have to check it out!
Nice mideval battle - style game, the difficuly is fine, it has good graphics but the camera does a bit of an issue (almost got me nauseous by how much it goes allover the place whenever i move the mouse, even though is a bit slow from right to left). But still i'll recomend it? Yes! 4/5
Absence of Light is a dark fantasy action RPG that embraces the harsh combat, oppressive atmosphere, and unforgiving progression commonly associated with Souls-like games while presenting them through a smaller-scale indie framework. Developed and published by Boa Noite, the game places players in the role of a skeletal warrior reborn into a dying world consumed by darkness and corruption. The objective is straightforward on the surface: travel through hostile realms, defeat powerful enemies, and restore fragments of light to a collapsing land. However, the experience quickly reveals itself to be less about heroic fantasy and more about survival, persistence, and slowly overcoming a world that constantly feels determined to destroy the player. The atmosphere is easily one of the game’s greatest strengths. From the opening moments, the world feels abandoned and hopeless, filled with ruined castles, desolate landscapes, underground catacombs, and shadow-covered ruins that communicate decay and suffering without relying heavily on dialogue. The environments are consistently gloomy and oppressive, reinforcing the idea that this is a world long past salvation. Even though the visuals are limited by the game’s indie production scale, the strong dark fantasy art direction gives the experience a memorable identity that remains effective throughout the adventure. Combat is clearly inspired by the Souls-like formula, emphasizing careful timing, stamina management, and deliberate movement instead of fast-paced action. Enemies are dangerous from the beginning, and even smaller opponents can quickly kill careless players who attack recklessly. Every fight demands patience and observation because enemy attack patterns, positioning, and defensive timing all play critical roles in survival. The game rewards methodical playstyles where learning through repeated failure becomes an essential part of progression. One of the more satisfying aspects of Absence of Light is the feeling of gradual improvement over time. At the start, the protagonist feels weak and vulnerable, but consistent exploration and successful battles slowly provide access to stronger weapons, better equipment, and new abilities that make combat more manageable. This progression system creates a rewarding gameplay loop where difficult encounters that once seemed impossible eventually become conquerable through practice and character growth. The sense of slowly mastering the game’s harsh systems becomes one of the primary motivations for continuing forward. Boss fights are among the game’s strongest moments. These encounters are intentionally punishing and often require complete understanding of the combat mechanics in order to survive. Larger enemies use aggressive attacks, delayed swings, and dangerous movement patterns designed to punish panic and impatience. Some bosses can feel overwhelming during early attempts, but defeating them after multiple failures creates a satisfying sense of accomplishment that captures the appeal of difficult action RPG design. Exploration is another important part of the experience. The game’s interconnected environments encourage players to investigate carefully because hidden pathways, optional areas, useful upgrades, and lore fragments are scattered throughout the world. The environments feel mysterious and dangerous, which makes discovering shortcuts or hidden secrets genuinely rewarding. The game rarely guides players directly, instead encouraging careful observation and experimentation while navigating its hostile fantasy world. The audio design complements the atmosphere effectively. Ambient sounds, distant echoes, and restrained musical tracks create a constant feeling of loneliness and tension during exploration. The soundtrack rarely overwhelms the player and instead supports the oppressive mood subtly, allowing the environmental audio and combat sounds to dominate much of the experience. This restrained approach strengthens immersion by reinforcing the bleak and isolated tone of the world. One of the game’s more appealing qualities is how committed it is to maintaining tension and challenge. Absence of Light does not attempt to simplify its systems excessively or constantly reward players with easy victories. Every area feels dangerous, and progression often requires repeated attempts and careful adaptation. The game clearly understands that much of the satisfaction in Souls-like experiences comes from persistence and mastery rather than immediate success. However, the game also struggles with several noticeable issues. The most obvious problem is the lack of overall polish in certain areas. Combat animations can occasionally feel stiff, and some enemy interactions lack the fluidity expected from stronger action RPGs. While the combat system captures the structure of Souls-like gameplay effectively enough, there are moments where responsiveness and hit detection feel inconsistent during more intense encounters. Difficulty balance is also uneven at times. Some enemy encounters and bosses feel carefully designed around player skill and learning, while others rely more heavily on overwhelming aggression or excessive damage output. The challenge is clearly meant to be punishing, but certain sections cross the line from rewarding difficulty into frustration, especially for players less experienced with Souls-like mechanics. Narrative depth is another weaker element. Although the worldbuilding and atmosphere are compelling, the story itself remains vague and fragmented throughout most of the game. Lore is delivered mainly through environmental storytelling and scattered information rather than detailed character interactions or emotional narrative sequences. Players who enjoy interpreting mysterious fantasy worlds may appreciate this approach, but others may find the storytelling lacking in emotional impact or memorable characters. Environmental and enemy variety can also become repetitive during longer sessions. While the game gradually introduces new areas and opponents, many sections share similar dark fantasy themes and combat rhythms. The oppressive atmosphere remains effective, but greater diversity in level design and enemy behavior could have helped maintain stronger momentum throughout the later portions of the adventure. Despite these flaws, Absence of Light succeeds because it captures the core appeal of dark fantasy action RPGs surprisingly well for a smaller indie project. The oppressive environments, tense combat, and rewarding sense of progression combine to create an experience that feels genuinely immersive when the systems are functioning at their best. Even when rough edges become noticeable, the atmosphere and challenge continue pushing players deeper into the game’s bleak world. What ultimately makes the game enjoyable is its commitment to tension, survival, and persistence. The world feels hostile, victories feel earned, and progression comes through determination rather than convenience. Absence of Light may not reach the technical polish or depth of larger Souls-like games, but it still succeeds at delivering a satisfying dark fantasy adventure for players willing to embrace its harsh design philosophy and unforgiving combat. For fans of challenging action RPGs, dark fantasy settings, and methodical combat systems, Absence of Light offers an atmospheric and rewarding experience filled with difficult battles and oppressive exploration. Its technical roughness, inconsistent balance, and minimal storytelling prevent it from standing among the genre’s best, but the game still provides enough tension, atmosphere, and satisfying progression to remain compelling for players who enjoy demanding fantasy adventures.
