Great game, very immersive. Miles romanus sum et Carthago delenda est!
Really love this game, what a beautiful, fantastic game. The writing is amazing, the historical accuracy is immersive and appreciated and the menu music is beautiful, so beautiful it reminds me of Assassin's Creed 2's Menu Music. The best way to have fun with this game is to read and understand the stats and then keep on going over and over again until you have a character strong enough to make it to the end and win... The game dev has earned himself a new follower and as soon as it is possible for me, I will be purchasing Never Second In Rome.
Solid game. Some complain about the meta-like progression, but I think it fits well. You are expected to die and restart, getting better at combat and choosing better decisions. Recommend trying this game.

A solid and fun simulation of legionary life with a lot of variety
Genuinely one of my favorite games of all time. The grinding in this game is fast and enjoyable and it perfectly manages rng in the gameplay. Whenever I am tempted to try to make a game of my own I want to make it like this game. Super fun :)
RPG is a very broad term, but I tend to believe it is a game in which you play a role and follow some kind of narrative. A good RPG should be story forward. A great one gives you as many ways as possible to interact with the narrative and form your character. Those are the kind I like anyway. I don't personally consider Roguelike's to be RPGs, not really. They are completely gameplay forward, and whatever narrative is experienced as a side product that may as well be random. Story by flashcard. Furthermore it's hard to have a narrative where you get two pages in, and die, and then start over. Git gud, I know. Game's not my cup of tea.
