This modern day game will take you back in time, where games were hard and chances scarce. Albeit hard, pretty addictive when you like to destroy aliens for a while, enjoying a good chiptune soundtrack and arcade gameplay.
ENGLISH: A supercharged SPACE INVADER in terms of phases and diversity of situations. I bought it again to give it a second chance, and the truth is that the game deserves it. The soundtrack fills my room with nostalgia, and the changing enemy patterns in each level make it a very addictive and high-quality game. I truly regret having arrived late to the opportunity to enjoy this game filled with nods to the classics.
Great game. It wears it's inspirations on it's sleeve, and does what it says on the tin. I like the gameplay, the difficulty, music, and interesting use of colour. Recommended.
Space Invaders inspired action.
"Zeroptian Invasion" (2018) is a neat little game which is obviously inspired by the classic shoot 'em up arcade game "Space Invaders" (1978). It isn't simply copying that game though. It features unique sprites, unique mechanics which change depending on what level you are on and unique bosses. And most importantly: This game has really good music. I haven't heard a single soundtrack in this game which I disliked. You always start a run with 2 lives, but you can get bonus-lives during your runs. One important thing to note is that you won't start the game over entirely if you game over, instead you will start over at the beginning of the section you died in. Each section of this game is divided into 3 levels + an "R" Stage at the beginning of each section except for the first one with one boss at the end of each section. You know that you have beaten a section after you have unlocked a new colour. If I didn't miscount there are around 19 or 20 levels + the 5 "R" stages. "R" levels are really short levels where rows of enemies come flying at you in certain patterns, you don't need to destroy them though. Merely dodging them is enough to beat one of these stages. 4 rows of those enemies are usually all these stages have to offer. While you play you will occasionally encounter power-ups. These can be recognised as the slowly moving blinking portals which slide across the screen from left to right or vice versa. They are always at the top of the screen so you need to aim your shot well since you need to take the travel-time of your projectile into consideration. There are three power-ups which you can get from shooting these portals. "P", "S" and "->". "P" probably stands for "Power" so therefore it allows you to shoot 2 projectiles instead of one. Your rate of fire does not depend on a set time by the way. It rather depends on how many projectiles are on screen at the same time. Without the power-up there can only be one of your projectiles on the screen until you can shoot another one. With the power-up you can have two of them on the screen. "S" probably stands for "Shield". If you collect this item you will get a temporary shield which persists until you get hit by an enemy. It basically counts as a free hit. "->" lets you move your ship around way faster. It is really useful if you have to dodge a lot of enemy bullets. Mind that you will lose all these power-ups not only when you game over, but also when you lose a life in general. Power-ups appear relatively frequently though so you don't have to fight enemies without them for too long unless you miss the Item-portals multiple times. Just like in the style of the old games you can get a hi-score which you can save under a three-letter combination if you win the game. I believe that the game is replayable as it encourages you to play it again to achieve a better score than before. You can even get a steam achievement if you acquire a certain score. I do recommend the game because it's price is low and the quality is high. Beating all of the levels doesn't take too long (Roughly 45 minutes if you die a few times), but the game offers a high replayability as I already mentioned.
