About

Brilliant, burnt-out, possibly cursed – you play as operant Hershel Wilk, alias CASCADE. Five years ago you led your team into the abyss and have been haunted by your failures ever since. Now you've been recalled for a mysterious assignment that may give you a chance to prove yourself again.

Uncover secrets hidden in the lost corners of the city and within your own mind. Navigate a murky world of potential informants and adversaries. Pass skill checks to uncover their true motivations through subterfuge, violence, or deduction. As an operant, there are multiple ways to approach every problem - your choices and methods will be your own, and so will the consequences.

Find yourself thrown into a three-way struggle for cultural and ideological power, played out across an unforgettable city. You'll go up against international bankers, foreign techno-fascists, psychic doppelgängers, a paranoid TV presenter, a man with a box for a heart, and dozens more. Everyone you meet has their own agendas, beliefs, and secrets for you to uncover and turn to your own ends. In ZERO PARADES, even the world itself is a character with its own secrets, traumas, and miracles for you to discover.

Operants subject themselves to years of psychological training to hone their minds into their greatest weapons. Do you favor animal-like reflexes, a philosophical approach, or a different cover story for every occasion? Through Conditioning, you'll turn the deepest aspects of Hershel's identity into potent abilities and unlock new paths forward. You can even change the rules of the game itself.

Pressures simulate the physical and psychological toll of being in-theatre. Exertion pushes dice rolls in your favour – just remember that you’re gambling with your life. Keep your Fatigue, Anxiety, and Delirium in check or deal with the long-term repercussions.

In this line of work you're going to fail way more often than you succeed. That much is expected of you. What matters is how you pick yourself back up. If the dice don't go your way (and they won't) you'll have to improvise and hope the consequences are ones you can live with.

Good game, great that its voiced and well done at that. My only issue with the game is that the story can be very, very confusing and it can be very hard to follow along. I did not have the same problem with Disco version. But on the whole I am enjoying the game, so I would still recommend.
This game is amazing!
Fantastic game but quite different to Disco Elysium. I personally hated the main voice actor for text (same regional dialect as myself) but I put up with it anyway. Feels like this will be a much better game once fully patched and updated like Disco Elysium was The ending section was quite subpar and felt rushed. Not many specific options and it felt railroaded.
Much better writing than most of the games out there. But
the ending is quite anticlimactic
.
I'm in no way saying this game is bad, but as other reviews have stated - it is Disco in concept and art style; but something just feels missing. Like the body is here with some of the soul; idk maybe it's been imprinted into it..? I may be sorely misremembering my time in DE but I felt like I went more places and did more things; like actual things as well where Harry would do something instead of stand there. This is a TRPG narrative style...immersive simulation game that gives you the world and the characters and the ability to do whatever the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell you want to in the basic sense. There was a lot of things that I did wrong in my first playthrough and I'm going to hold off my second for the maybe, hopeful, definitive edition (like the one that elevated DE) before coming back. There was just a lot of things like the inventory was a pain in the ass to deal with; I feel there should have at least been sorting function to help find at minimum slot spots instead of having to click through everything - a filter would be an absolute pipe dream but I feel like that's going to be a modders contribution. Spoken dialogue mismatched the onscreen written text at times, and a couple of them like my favorite was when the game had "prick" written out but the narrator said "♥♥♥♥" instead...like idk that seems like a glaring, hilarious, but glaring mistake...right? I could easily forgive it if it was in the same vein at all but instead we're talking two completely different branches of anatomy... and I think that really summarizes a bit of how I feel about so many of the jarring disconnections that I had with what was being explained vs what was happening in the game. Aside from that and some massive audio mixing issues with some of the voice actors. I enjoyed the people that I was talking to mostly. Anyone that had a codename was worth investing time into communicating with - there was very few of the later game non-code characters that interested me but can't win them all. I mean if you liked DE a lot - then I see no reason you won't enjoy this but I think it needs some polish in it's presentation and maybe some more animation going on cause this really is a lot of just....standing around for 15+ minutes at a time listening to the narrator popping off. Again I could be misremembering DE but I just felt like more happened where my choices lead to funnier scenes than a voice in my head or the character I was communicating with responding in a funny way as well. I'll play through again at a later date since I did a more X-Files style spy than physical (just like my first DE playthrough) and I'd love to see what happens when you pass other types of checks or work with other characters. So I still recommend it regardless.
A good successor to Disco Elysium though not nearly as poignant as the original. Very fun, engrossing and shares the overall spirit if not the setting with its predecessor. I was scared this would be a soulless cash grab from what's left of ZA/UM after the acrimonious crack up of the studio, but have been pleasantly surprised by Zero Parades. Clearly the studio has a lot of talent left though I think the absence of some of the creative figures like Kurvitz and Rostov is clearly felt in the writing and artwork. This is a good game, it's just missing the intangible *magic* of the original.
Another masterpiece =)
capitalism be damned, this studio can make a video game
The Opera never tires 10/10 would recruit comrade beetle again
Одна из лучших игр после Disco Elysium
