Jogo muito divertido! A arte é linda e extremamente bem trabalhada, e tanto a trilha sonora quanto a dublagem e a história são realmente incríveis.
YVY is a strikingly distinct indie roguelite from Plural Filmes that blends dice-driven strategy with a powerful cultural identity rarely seen in the genre. Instead of leaning on generic fantasy tropes or familiar dungeon-crawler aesthetics, it builds its world around imagery drawn from Brazilian indigenous folklore, mythic symbolism, and the tumultuous history of resistance against colonial invasion. The result is an experience that feels both intimate and mythic, a game that pairs mechanical experimentation with a sense of cultural storytelling that seeps into every frame of its art and every beat of its rhythm. At its core, YVY revolves around a single, customizable six-faced die that acts as your avatar, weapon, and growth system all at once. Each face represents an ability—attacks, defenses, buffs, debuffs, or unique magical actions—and your effectiveness is determined by the combinations you craft. The simplicity of this system hides a surprising degree of strategic nuance. Every new upgrade or ability slot forces you to consider not only what action you want but how often you want it to appear. The randomness inherent to rolling a die becomes a tactical tool rather than a hindrance, and each run becomes a personal experiment in structural design. Instead of managing a roster of weapons or characters, you sculpt the identity of a single cube, and that focus gives the game a clarity of purpose that many roguelites lack. Combat plays out as a hybrid between automatic resolution and player influence. The die rolls itself during confrontations, executing whichever ability lands face-up, while the player intervenes only through limited-use abilities tied to ritual “Battle Drums.” This creates an intriguing blend of luck and agency—fights feel unpredictable enough to stay tense, but not so hands-off that they become passive. Over repeated runs, you begin to read the battlefield with greater intuition, learning how to structure your die to mitigate risk or exploit powerful synergies. This design embraces the roguelite ethos of risk-versus-reward, but also asks you to think like a craftsman, carving your identity run after run. YVY’s progression structure encourages exploration through a series of chapters—each one representing different regions, environmental moods, and escalating threats. New locations bring fresh enemies, different tactical pressures, and thematic shifts that keep the game feeling alive from run to run. Rather than relying solely on mechanical escalation, YVY integrates its cultural backdrop into its environments, making each biome feel like a reflection of ancestral memory, spiritual encounters, or historical conflict. The visual style leans into earthy tones, symbolic patterns, and painterly motion, giving every screen a sense of spiritual grounding. The music reinforces this connection—drums, chants, and atmospheric orchestration combine to create a soundscape that feels ritualistic as much as it does adventurous. While the game’s uniqueness is a major strength, it also creates challenges. The single-dice system, though rich in customization, may feel constraining for players accustomed to broader skill trees or multi-character builds. The “semi-auto” style of combat means you aren’t always in full control, and for some players this balance of automation and action may feel too passive. Because the game is designed around repeated runs, some may also find themselves craving more dramatic long-term progression or deeper structural changes between chapters. And like many roguelites, the luck of the roll can occasionally produce runs that feel unwinnable through no fault of the player—something that will test the patience of those who prefer consistent, deterministic strategy. Yet despite these limitations, YVY stands out because it dares to deviate from convention. It isn’t trying to be another dungeon-crawler clone or a reskinned deck-builder. It strives to convey a sense of ancestral spirit through design, to make its mechanics echo its themes, and to offer a game world shaped by cultural significance rather than borrowed fantasy. Even in its simplicity, it feels bold—an experiment with identity and structure that gives it a personality stronger than many larger-budget roguelites. If it can maintain that integrity while refining its balance and pacing, it has all the ingredients to carve out a meaningful place within the indie landscape. YVY ultimately succeeds as a game of rhythm and ritual, strategy and symbolism. It speaks through the roll of a die, the thrum of a drum, and the quiet persistence of a people defending their land and spirit. For players seeking something new—something that merges mechanical creativity with cultural storytelling—it offers an experience as thoughtful as it is atmospheric, and as distinctive as the land that inspired it. Super fun game, I loved the gameplay loop, the sounds and the art!
Short and sweet!
Playtime would be 10h longer if it included the demo, which i played a lot. I really wish Steam had a middling review option, but i'll be optimistic and veer towards positive. But this game could use some small adjustments Pros - It's like a chill Slay The Spire which autobattles - Decent amount of different powers (die faces, works like cards). - The building blocks for a really fun game is present everywhere. - The visuals and story are very fun and have a loving, handcrafted feel. - It has a very good demo! Maybe even too good of a demo! Cons - For something that's supposed to be a roguelike, it has very little replayability. You reset to your default build every stage, but every stage is equally long and just has different, harder enemies to deal with. And, the real kicker, you can't go back and replay old stages. I must emphasize, THERE IS VERY LITTLE REPLAYABILITY. The way the final stage is setup makes this even worse. - Very short. Because i had played the demo for a few hours to master the game, i could complete the entire game from a fresh save, playing casually, within the refund timer (2h). I'm not going to refund the game, but i will say, i was very tempted, but i do want to reward the devs for what they put down. - The game doesn't remember your settings like going away from fullscreen for the next time you start it up. I had to window it every time. (Maybe a linux issue? i do use linux.) - The game still has some bugginess to it. I lost a good run while playing the main game to an event called "0" with the description "0" and the only button being "0" which softlocked the game. All in all, i'm very conflicted about this game because it's teeming with potential and just two features would make it go so so much further. A: The ability to replay older stages. B: Certain stages just being longer, letting you make a more perfect build before fighting the boss. (maybe even something like Slay The Spire's endless, where you can repeat the stage directly after the current stage, but every repeat, enemy stats are increased.) I really hope the devs get the funding, the chance and have the desire to make small improvements to the game to bring out the most of it, because what's here could be amazing and with a few purely coding based improvements, and the promise of future added content, would definitely be something that deserves to go viral.
Gostei. Não é tão elaborado, mas achei bastante promissor
Jogo bem criativo, com uma história e jogabilidade que te prende do início ao fim e sem falar da arte do jogo que é um espetáculo a parte. Espero ansiosamente por mais atualizações!
Love itttt hidden gem u should def. get this and support the devs
相比起demo不进反退,局内成长全靠运气。只有一层的build少得可怜,实在没必要强行拆成一节节。玩十几分钟又要重头来过...憋屈至极
