It's only ONE DOLLAR! It's such a small amount and it's nice to support potential up-and-coming creators ESPECIALLY if they're starting off with a banger such as this game. If you want a fairly tough at times, short, and fun metroidvania platformer with some cute pixel art graphics to back it then definitely consider trying this out! It's crazy because the origins of this game trace back to Geometry Dash. Of course I'm the guy to discover stuff like this when I have so many damn hours in that game. It's crazy, but when Geometry Dash added a platformer mode people were able to create such incredible games.... within the game itself. Some platformer levels you'd click on and play and they'd have their own gimmicks and quirks and could potentially take upwards of several hours or more to beat. This one was uploaded to those servers as "Quarion" and I guess to some extent you could say this is a "port" from that? This feels similar to that level, but a lot more fully realized. At least if I'm remembering it correctly. For one compliment I feel the need to mention I have to give an applause to the absolute menace Apaolo for the soundtrack. Bro... what?!?!? What is music that goes THIS HARD doing in a game like this?! I mean I'm not opposed to it, but it's just so unexpected and made so many moments even more enjoyable than they already were. Especially the bossfights! As for any complaints I only found one major hiccup. If you're playing through this PLEASE buy the bubble shield from the shop first after getting the key. If you do what I did and just nonchalantly buy the items going from top to bottom you're going to run into a bit of a wall. I couldn't get the final fruit needed to buy the bubble shield because you seemingly NEED that shield to get the final fruit in the first place. I didn't mind playing through the game again anyways as I needed to do the proper ending, but it's still a nitpick I have nonetheless. Regardless of my ONE complaint I would say this is more than worth your time. A couple hours of a fun and slightly challenging platformer/metroidvania game for a single dollar?! Banger music too?! Hell yeah!
Amazingly put together the fact that a gd level became a whole Indie game is amazing great work zeojoant
Super fun little game. Took 2.5 hours to 100%, enjoyed every minute of it. Overall, not too difficult, but some of the optional content gets pretty tricky.
Played on OG 512 Steam Deck without issues. What a great fun time! Bravo! Just get it.
One of the better metroidvanias that I have played. This one is more focused on platforming rather than combat which outside of the bosses there was none. Speaking of the bosses I thought the first three were very repetetive but the last 2 actually really suprised me in difficulty and gameplay. The music was wonderful and I was jamming every boss fight and the world design and platforming were all great and pixel art that reminds me of the game dewdrop dynasty was also beatiful. This game is WELL worth a single dollar and I would have happily paid at least 10. The only criticism I have of the game is the lack of tutorials, where it took me a while to figure out that with a controller you had to use the d-pad to run and the joystick to walk which made me stuck in the beggining. Overall for what this is this game gets a 9/10
I played this when it the (technically) demo released on Geometry Dash and almost 100% the acheivments on this game. I am yet to leave a review so ima leave one now. In short, this game is very fun and really easy to learn. 10/10 game worth the money i spent
This is a cool little platformer that is over almost before you notice it. And I'd say it is a good thing. Certainly I'd prefer it be as it is now, short and to the point, as opposed to be watered down with tons of bland and samey "content". There is some jank expected of a one-dollar game - unlocking certain item first makes it much harder to unlock the second (ask me how I know), and in some areas you can seemingly get stuck without an obvious way out (this made me wonder if I'm unlocking the unlockables in the expected order). Overall, this game set out to entertain me for a couple of evenings, and it did so. I do want to unlock more, but am hitting certain skill ceiling. But that's a "me" problem, not this game's. It's OK to have some extra content locked behind a difficulty spike, but if you're a completionist it may take you longer.
Good minimalist, old-school platformer with crispy pixels and smooth controls. Short, but not too short... Not sure about that deathless achievement though
I already finished the game on Geometry Dash. This version on Steam is more polished, the map was changed a bit still stay true to the game.
hesitant to give thumbs up as a few parts seem a little over the top on the rage but i must give it ups for atmosphere
