Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 2 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

After finishing the older Ys games and coming straight from Ys I & II (and the awesome Ys 8, before those), I can say that Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim feels like a major transition point for the series. You can already see the foundations of what would later become the modern, addictive Falcom formula: fast progression, great music, rewarding exploration, and that constant feeling of “just one more area”. That said, this game also carries a lot of old-school frustration. The biggest issue for me was the platforming. The jumps feel extremely finicky and imprecise, especially when trying to reach optional treasure chests. Several times I simply gave up on collecting them because the platforming stopped being fun and started becoming irritating. The movement is much better than Ys I & II, but the game still has some awkward physics and collision that have not aged particularly well. Difficulty is also quite high, especially if you are not the type of player who enjoys memorizing boss patterns or replaying sections repeatedly. Personally, if I had not used a trainer for some quality-of-life help, this probably would have ended like Ys I & II for me: uninstalling out of frustration. However, despite all of that… the game still has something special. Once I discovered the fast travel system and the backtracking became less annoying, the core gameplay loop became much more enjoyable. The soundtrack is excellent, exploration keeps pulling you forward, and there is a very strong sense of momentum throughout the adventure. Most importantly, Ys VI made me understand why people love this series so much. Even when the game frustrated me, I still wanted to keep progressing. In many ways, this feels like Falcom learning how to evolve from harsh old-school design into something more fluid and modern. Playing through these older entries after experiencing the newer games sometimes felt like voluntarily doing archaeology of suffering :)))) but also seeing, in real time, how Falcom slowly refined the formula into something special. Not my favorite Ys so far, and definitely rough around the edges, but also impossible for me to dislike completely.
Muchas horas de diversion y de encontrar secretillos, a parte de la propia historia. De matricula de honor.
This game is a fun action game with light RPG elements. The first hour or so are rough because the game doesn't tell you where to go, and you need to grind to be strong enough to fight the first boss. According to the achievements, something like around half the people who own this never beat the first boss. Give it an hour of your time to get good, as Adol can't do much until he starts getting equipment after the first boss.
