You know what...? Despite all the issues and wonkiness of this game, I love it. I like the engrish. I like the difficulty (eh, for the most part), I love the graphics. The menu system reminds me of retro city builders. When I get free time these days, this is my go to game when I need a little break. I do wish there was a less tedious way of reassigning workers when someone dies -- but look... this is one dedicated dev making this game, and I got far more than I expected from this adorable indie gem. I wish the range of civilians was higher, so I didn't have to have as much segmentation in my village... however, that's not too bad to work around. That or maybe a storehouse/stockpile transportation system that was not dependent on railroads or balloons... maybe like a caravan with cute little pixel pack animals <3~ ? I would highly recommend this game if you love city/village sims with a nice progression system and some quirks. It's well worth the price, and I highly recommend supporting this indie dev, as he/she (I dunno) has been consistent. So much as to release holiday updates, which is always nice.
https://store.steampowered.com/curator/32044813 ----------
Kind of blown away by this game early on. It's like a 2D, top down, pixelated Banished, but with a much deeper production chain and progression loop. Only a few hours in, but still playing and having fun.
It is an unexpectedly fun game despite its minimalistic graphic or broken language. I highly recommend it to anyone that is interested in playing a farming-civilization building game. The only glaring issue in this game are 3 things: Language, Language, Language. You truly need a guesswork on what the dev meant on many items in game. But if you can experiment one or two time first then the bad language became something you can ignore (But still need to be criticized) My rating for the game related to its price is 67/100. If the dev fixed the language issue, i think the score is worthy to around 72-77/100, depending on whether the dev add more stuff to the game or not.
The concept of the game seems quite appealing and interesting. So you bought it, downloaded those 220mb of your new joy. You are greeted by a very strange and uncomfortable menu, but in this you even notice a kind of coziness that here is an independent developer, probably alone making his game. The game is in early access, but still playable! Noh vot you named your sweety pixel island, start playing, read the introduction of the game, everything seems intuitive, then just click like “ok-ok, well, let me play already!”. You are playing and playing, and then you notice that the inhabitants are running out of health..... even though someone's already married. Uh, what? They keep running out of health. Winter is coming. Colony is not doing well, even though you have done everything as fast as possible and researched everything available. You see messages like “no food”, “no space”. You realize from experience in similar games that this is how it will be. And in the second world and happens exactly the same thing. Okay, thank you. I didnt want to figure it out further, I wanted an intuitive game that wouldnt kill my colony. So quickly. I realize that I have only played a small amount of time and was a pretty weak player, but Im entitled to it, and the game is supposed to entertain me. This game didnt entertain me. I finally came up with a good excuse for myself
A fun little sim to chill
