World of Zoo

I use to have this game on the Wii back when I was a kid. Playing it again is such a huge hit of nostalgia. My only complaint is for the PC version, you only get half of the animals. No penguins, no crocodiles, no bears, etc. Besides that, the game is still as cute and fun as I remember it.

I went into this game expecting to hate it. I played the Wii version as a kid, and I thought this would be a lesser version. Well, I can comfortably say that despite being half the game it was on Nintendo's platform, I enjoyed the game for what it was.

Childhood wii game

I bought this beautiful, sweet game as a DVD from a store when I was a little child. I installed it on my own computer and also tried to get my loved ones to install it on theirs. This game is so precious. It is really very special and important to me. I love this game from the bottom of my heart. I'm glad you made such a game, thank you.

World of Zoo is a charming, if highly repetitive game for kids, where you pet, groom and play with various cute animals, such as giraffes, pandas, koalas, lions, etc. While it was not my cup of tea, I can absolutely see how an animal-loving kid could have many hours of fun with this game. [b]The Good[/b] The graphics are bright and cute and colorful, if highly stylized/simplified. The music falls firmly into the “cute earworm” category. The game has a great sense of humor, with punny in-game achievement/task names and some truly whacky bits and pieces (exactly how many remotes can one giraffe swallow?) The game lets you either pick from a fairly large selection of preset animals for each exhibit or create your own animal fitting that exhibit. You can have up to three separate zoos at a time. [b]The Bad[/b] There are no volume settings in the game, which is pretty bad because this game is LOUD. I usually have my volume mixer set to 20-30 when gaming. For this game I had to go all the way down to 10. Once you have completed all the tasks/challenges for one exhibition (one group of animals), you have basically done them all. Sure, the individual foods and toys will be different, but mechanically the big cats exhibition functions no differently from the giraffe exhibition, for example, so it becomes very grindy very fast. The treasure mechanic is wonky at best and the camera controls take a LOT of getting used to. [b]The Ugly[/b] Nothing. Didn’t encounter any bugs or technical issues, which is exceedingly rare, but then again, I only spent two hours with the game.

maybe i am almost 18 and still enjoy playing a game made for 5 year olds, what of it? update: im 20 and still fw this game heavily

The PC version of this game is missing a few things the Wii version had (namely Gazelles, Bears, Penguins, Elephants and Crocodiles), and that's the version I grew up with. However aside from that, it's still a fun little romp with zoo animals. You can customize and make your own animals, you unlock various new toys, tools and food for your animals the more time you spend with them. Get it on sale though, it isn't really worth $10 USD.

Played the Wii version of this game a bunch as a kid and seeing it here on Steam set my nostalgia neurons off. Only half of the animals are available though. No Alligators, Antelope, Bears, Elephants, or Penguins. Super unfortunate. If you want to buy the Steam version I recommend waiting for a Steam sale. If all the animals were available then I would actually say it'd be worth it at base price.
