Wow what a awesome game! Not really a rougelike fan but this game is just really good, very fun, great survival horror feeling with rpg elements and very light souls style gameplay. Thats probably a very odd description but just check out the demo, i beat it and bought the game right after!
Way better than I expected. Pretty difficult, I died a lot at first, but I found a build that worked for me mid game. A unique blend of souls-like, Metroidvania, rogue-lite. Can't wait for the sequel
Awesome game! I usually don't go for all of the achievements but after you beat it, they added a little more you unlock making it significantly easier and faster to 100% it in your next playthroughs. It was intimidating and frustrating when I first picked it up.. the eerie atmospheres, tough enemies, so many ways to lose health, etc. But if you keep going, you get to a point where you never worry about dying and the game seems to open up a lot for you. 10/10 experience. I'd willingly drink a vial of questionable liquid from the Cholera Doctor if it meant I could experience this game for the first time once more.
Withering Rooms feels like a Victorian nightmare where every death teaches you how to survive the next one. Exploring Mostyn House is constantly unsettling. The mansion changes each night, resources are limited, and every dark room may contain an undead creature, invisible ghost, hidden passage, or something even worse. The 2.5D presentation and disturbing sound design create tension without relying entirely on cheap jumpscares. Combat can be awkward at first, but experimenting with melee weapons, spells, traps, stealth, and different character builds becomes surprisingly rewarding. Rituals let you preserve important items or gain permanent improvements, so death usually feels like progress rather than a complete reset. Inventory management can become tedious, some enemies feel frustrating until you understand their behavior, and the procedural layout occasionally makes navigation repetitive. Nevertheless, the strange characters, deep customization, eerie environments, and constant discoveries make this one of the more distinctive horror RPGs available. I barricaded the door, prepared several traps, and memorized my escape route. The ghost came through the wall. 10/10 planning.
An Absolute Masterpiece of 2026 I don't say this lightly, but this is hands-down one of the best games I have played all year. From the moment I start, it completely hooks me, and I’ve found myself absolutely addicted to the gameplay loop. The art style is stunning, but what truly blew me away is the soundtrack. The game music is exceptionally impressive and so good that I constantly find myself just clearing out an area, parking my character, and staying there just to listen to the score. It creates an incredible, immersive vibe that is awesome. The attention to visual detail is just as beautiful. One of my favorite cosmetic features is a costume that constantly shifts and changes colors, and the design of the star sword is so cute. Creatively, the developers knocked it out of the park. The core mechanics, specifically how the rings, magic systems, and other elements balance and interact with each other are extremely innovative. It forces you to think but feels incredibly rewarding when it clicks. If you are wondering what settings to play on, the standard difficulty is the sweet spot. It gives the perfect balance of challenge and fun without feeling unfair. Honestly there are just TOO MANY things I LOVE about this game to list them all. It is creative, beautiful, addictive, and a joy to listen to. I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for their next gaming obsession! <3
Easily one of the best rogue likes I have ever played. This game will 100% not be for everybody and that's okay, but if you can get to the point where you remember all the important items for your build, you will be golden.
