Surprisingly deep and super addictive TCG Been playing Witchcrafter: The TCG for a while now, and honestly, it’s way better than I expected. Tons of cards, great mechanics, and a lot of room for creativity when building decks. You can really tell there’s a lot of heart put into this one. Pros: - Thousands of cards and each one has its own story or ability - Strong game system and card balance, very well thought out. - So many combo possibilities… this can seriously keep you hooked for years. - PvP mode is awesome -- matches are intense and super satisfying when you win. Cons: - The animation effects could use some work — would love to see more visual flair. - Sometimes have to wait a bit for PvP matches to start. Didn’t expect to get hooked this fast. Witchcrafter is tough, fun, and keeps me coming back for “just one more round.” Really curious to see what updates are coming.
I saw some other players saying Witchcrafter is underrated, and honestly… I agree. The card variety is huge, and every card feels like it has some cool lore or ability behind it. The balance is surprisingly good too — you don’t get punished for going second, and it doesn’t feel like a pay-to-win game at all. PvP with friends is actually pretty fun, but yeah, I agree with others that the story mode could be stronger. Would be awesome if the devs released more background lore or even a comic/manga to go with it. Some people also mentioned that there’s no signature “hero character” to latch onto yet, which is true — you don’t get that same immersive feel as other big TCG worlds. But honestly? The game system itself is so solid that it still plays great. Overall, I’m with the other reviewers: this game is really good. Not perfect, but absolutely worth playing.
Finally a TCG on Steam! Lots of cards collectable and playful game rules. Though it is still growing, I can see potentials in this game!
I picked up Witchcrafter after seeing it pop up on GameSpot. Didn’t plan to buy anything that day, but the art looked cool so… yeah, here I am. First impression: the card art is seriously good. The shamanic theme is actually pretty unique, and it feels different from the usual fantasy style in most TCGs. Gameplay-wise, it’s a bit complicated at the start. I needed a little time to figure out how everything works, but once I got used to it, it felt rewarding rather than confusing. Something I didn’t expect: some cards have these little touches of values, ideas, and almost philosophical stuff. I’m still trying to understand the bigger picture, but a few descriptions really stood out. There’s definitely something deeper going on with the world-building. As for how it compares to other TCGs I’ve played: V.S. Yu-Gi-Oh — Of course Witchcrafter isn’t free, but the gameplay feels way fairer. No crazy ‘first-turn win’ nonsense. Plus, you can earn points and new cards through Solo mode, so I feel like it’s totally worth it in the long run. V.S. Magic The Gathering — honestly, Witchcrafter feels more playful and has some pretty interesting special abilities. V.S. Pokémon TCG — Pokemon is cute and fun, but that’s more for casual players. Witchcrafter feels like it’s aimed at people who actually enjoy deeper TCG mechanics. Came in skeptical, ended up enjoying it more than I expected. Nice art, solid gameplay, and more depth than I thought. Great potentials there.
No in game tutorial (just a link to a YouTube channel with 3 videos that are the worst tutorials I've ever seen). 3rd party account needed, and the game doesn't remember your credentials so have fun typing in your password every time. Turn time limit even in PVE mode, so if you're not familiar with all of the cards - sucks to be you as things get played by the ai and you don't have time yourself to read your own cards to learn what they do. No players found for PVP. Dead game.
Tried this game recently and honestly it’s pretty solid. Tons of cards to play with and the whole story/ability background is actually quite appealing. Balance is great too — no annoying “first player wins” stuff and you don’t need to pay big money just to stay competitive. PvP is fun, especially when you play with friends. The only downside is the storyline feels a bit weak for now. There’s no manga or comic background, so it’s harder to get fully immersed, and there aren’t any major comic-style characters to latch onto. Really hope they release more story content in the future. But overall? Still a very good game. Super worth checking out.
Highly Recommended to lovers of TCG / Card Games / Board Games / Deck Building Games
Still figuring it out, but it definitely has potential. Fun mechanics, cool combos, and you don’t need to spend much to progress.
Been trying out Witchcrafter for a bit, and honestly the gameplay feels pretty good. Early turns aren’t crazy or unfair, and once you start figuring out how your cards work together, the matches get really fun. Had a few moments where a combo finally clicked and I was like ‘ohhh okay, that’s sick. It does take some time to learn though — the system isn’t super simple at first. But the good thing is you can earn new cards just by playing, so you don’t feel forced to spend money right away. Pros - Fair pacing, no early-game cheese - Cool card interactions once you learn them - Deck-building actually matters - Can unlock cards without paying Cons - Learning curve for sure - Some parts still feel a bit rough
