Witchball is everything I wanted Nidhogg to be; an edge-of-your-seat competitive local co-op title that thinks outside of the box. It's a shame there is no single player mode. The upside is that there is a ton of content and many different modes to work through. There is little tutorial, so get ready to figure things out.
Witchball is an astounding, tantalizing work of game design. It's not perfect, but it's great. ***PROS*** + The game looks unreasonably good. Seriously. I'm not a fan of pixel graphics as a rule, but this is a definite exception. + The sound design is magnificent and wholly appropriate. + Gameplay is fast, edge-of-your-seat, and properly responsive. More importantly, it's incredibly fun. + The game's easy to learn and easy to strategize to an extent. + I've played with two friends now, and in spite of some really cruel moves we're all still friends. ***CONS*** - The game is only local multiplayer (and exclusively with controllers) which may be a hindrance. - Some powerups' functions are telegraphed poorly; it's difficult to see what they do. - The game featured only a few tracks. While these can be played with varying difficulty, it would be nice to feature more content. ***NOTES*** * You could probably play this on any PC; it's a small game that doesn't require lots of memory or processing power. * The game bugged once during my three hours of gameplay, but overall it seems pretty stable. * The names of locations and witches are downright lovely. The descriptions, more so. All in all, this game appeals to me more than it really should. In spite of its flaws, I would recommend Witchball in a heartbeat.

My girlfriend and I were searching through steam looking for a local co-op game to play this evening and happened to stumble upon this gem. We were drawn in by the psychedelic art style and were willing to shell out the 5 bucks for that alone but damn... the gameplay is genius. It definitely takes some time to wrap your head around the mechanics but if you stick with it you will be rewarded with one of the most unique gameplay experiences available on steam. We ended up playing for 2 hours straight. This game is definitely worth your money if you have someone around to play with (local multiplayer only). The only down side is that there is not a ton of content -the concept just has so much potential to be expanded upon and we would love to see more. Praying for a sequel!!!
Cannot play fullscreen, so you have to change the resolution of your desktop every time you want to play this game. You cannot turn off controller vibration. For some reason, we could not play anything other than the tutorial level. In short, awful experience. update: we found out that you can select a level when each player selects a different level, which is not explained at all. Also, it's not clear what catching the ball on the other side does. Since nothing is explained very well, and the vibration is very annoying, I decided to refund this confusing mess.
Witchball is the best game I never knew I wanted. To sum it up, the game is similar to pong + tug of war. I personally found it hard to convince friends to play with me for more than 5 minutes, but once they give it a chance, it's very deep and contains a lot of elements that make it feel like a fighting game. If you're super into local multiplayer games and have a couple controllers, I think it's a no-brainer to pick this game up.
Hella Dope game, its the beaty of JSRFs deathball except you dont have to worry about your dumbass opponent dropping the ball. Because that dummy is you! Just wish it had any sort of singleplayer mode
Amazingly sophisticated and easy to pick up. Split-screen co-op with two controllers is a must.
https://youtu.be/zrbDe-yywBk Mixing far too many elements leads to more of a mess than an success as the goals and methods to achieve them are very unclear.
If you fit into the venn diagram of enjoying couch pvp, enjoying experimental games, and having a friend patient enough to play with you, then you won't be disappointed. Hell. The game even has options for single player (playing against a bot) if you just want to look at all the pretty stuff. Seriously beautiful game though. Definitely worth the 5 bucks.
My sister got this game in a large game pack on itch, i played it and then bought it on steam cause its that good, its extremely difficult to master, but its been fun with everyone i played it with. Now i just wonder how much Money i would have to give the dev to make a switch port, could even use screen share, but is not necessary. For real though, this game is one of my favorite games ever, its not played often but its amazing, racing whilst playing pong with different characters that have abilities. Amazing and the rainbow road of this game is amazing everything you do is purely reactive when you go that fast and your abilities switch each lap....
