Winter Polaris

This was a quick drop for me so take it for what it is. Winter Polaris is the story of a pandemic where the symptoms are that people suddenly keel over and... disappear? Literally poof into thin air and their clothes remain on the floor. At first the MC is seeing this on the news and doesn't believe it, but when it happens at his workplace in front of him he accepts it, and for whatever reason he decides he's afraid of being near other people so he goes to live in the woods. The story hand waives this whole experience and every few lines does a time skip, until like 2 years later he finally encounters a person again, and, of course, it's a chuuni immortal goth lolita. His characterization was already pretty goofy and filled with nonsensical logic, but here it totally jumped the shark for me and I was out.

I can recommend this to anyone who likes Slice of life/Iyashikei anime.

神作，冬天和夏天宛如拿铁中的咖啡和牛奶完美地融合在一起，一口苦涩的冬天压抑之后接上一口甜美的夏天，第一次让这种双线叙事让人有除了结尾爆发之外主动去追寻的欲望（一般都是导演或者作者强制安排，虽然也不乏神作，但前中期坐牢是免不了的），作者真是神人。另外末日气氛渲染的非常好，BGM也很棒，10/10！

In typical stage-nana fashion, we delve into a deep tragic tale. This time it takes place in a decayed world that is also renewing. Both the voice acting and music are pretty good. The artwork does a good job of establishing the mood but not being overly descriptive. If you have played other stage-nana works, such as Narcissu or Ame no Marginal, you may also enjoy Winter Polaris.
