Lovely adventure through Wilma's dreams tackling hard earned victories in satisfying environments ^^
For what it is, actually not bad, I just sit there and kill things, very cool very swag I like it.
As an indie developer myself, and an indie game reviewer on Youtube (Zaxtor99 on Youtube), I can clearly see an indie game made from the heart with love and effort and a bad quickly made game with no inspiration. Thankfully, this game is the former and the love and inspiration clearly shows with video of his own dog in the game itself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lahUeyZkw0 The gameplay itself is surprisingly fun, fast, and frantic, and I found myself button mashing as if I was playing a Tekken game just hoping to get in hits before I died! It is MUCH more fun to play than it probably looks like from the trailer. If you are a dog lover, or simply love 2D fighting or platformer games, then this game gets my high recommend! I give this game a solid 8 out of 10 score.. and the love for it inspired by his own dog definitely makes this game shine!

Chef's kiss! Sole person as developer worked on this and really knows his unity. The snooty negative reviewer falsely claiming "The controls can't be customised" is ree ree ree reeeeee wrong! Love getting to know Wilma!
Olha, o jogo é curto e achei até divertido. É mais uma brincadeira/homenagem do desenvolvedor para o seu cachorro.

Wilma's Dreams is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This shovelware platformer is made with Unity and has amusing segments of full motion video of the developers dog. Which would be charming, but putting the dog up against such a terrible video game may even constitute animal abuse. I hope the dog never saw the game or got told what the footage was for. The game is laughably lazy and poorly made... like, there isn't even a proper turning animation so the sprites just flip around with a little twist effect... it looks crap. Really, really bad. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic low quality art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the mediocre 2D visuals. The controls can be customised, but this is an awkward process due to completely inept and obfuscatory, hamfisted UX design from the "developer". These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Wilma's Dreams has an overly optimistic price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. I feel bad for the dog.
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
First up, meaculpa, the UI design is so bad in the game options menu that it's not apparent the controls can be changed. I've amended my review to warn gamers about the bad UI design, but then this is to be expected, the reason amateur developers are amateur developers and not professional game developers working on AAA projects is because they can't actually do the job of game development to any acceptable standard, as the developer here resoundingly proves. By invoking the Streisand Effect, I took a deeper look into this trainwreck of animal abuse, and determined from SteamDB that gamers universally shunned the game. Peak player count was only ever 2 people at any time playing the game (presumably the developer and their therapist). Also, looking at the reviews for the game, they come from accounts with very small game counts and very few, if any other game reviews. While this is not a smoking gun, it does indicate highly suspicious and possible "friends, family and sock-puppet account" review manipulation, which, if true, is the kind of thing that will get developers banned from Steam. That would be great, less pollution and more quality games is good for everyone. Finally, we can tell the developer is so confidently incorrect about the spelling of the word "customise" because they're from the USA, which as we all know is the centre of the universe. Well colour him with embarrassment, US (simplified) English is very different from International English. But you can see the sheer arrogance, too, which explains so much of the poor quality of this game. When developers are poorly educated, they often fail at very basic tasks. If we're all learning, and if learning requires an fertile, empty mind, then the developer here has world leading capacity for it. The developers pointless, embarrassing response does not alter the deplorable quality of this insulting shovelware.
10/10 Because I know the dev
The combat is dope. The core mechanics feel really nice. I enjoy all the nooks and crannies of the adventure, as well as the replay value to compete with my previous score. Definitely recommended for some chill action adventure combat time!
