amazing beat em up, one of the few i have ever seen with a good chunk of air combos and command grabs. The pixel art is pretty good the commands are tight and we also have a choose your own adventure and roguelike features. This is a must have for beat em up and fighting game fans.
by far the best modern beat em up in my opinion not without issue, but the issues are almost entirely fixed by playing solo without the AI companion i'm not sure this would be the first game i'd pull out with 4 people on a couch though but if I ever get the chance to then maybe I'll change my mind could do with more explanations for everything but people don't read the ones present currently anyways looking forward to the future of this game

能直观体验到的战斗系统设计,以及一大堆能勉强读懂但有点累的英文。 我需要中文,拜托,
I bought this because I loved Absolum and wanted something with more depth. I think Wendigo Blue probably does have more depth, or at least way more stats to crunch, but there's no in-game explanation besides how to punch and dodge. The roguelike elements are completely opaque. It's also easy to lose track of what's going on in fights. I didn't like the character design either but YMMV.
Impressively poorly designed; par for the course for these devs, but its shocking how little they've improved in nearly a decade It'll throw stats at you, icons at you, map items at you... on screens where you can't read what they do. Even on the screens which DO say what they do, the info is often not clear at all. Strength and magic both just "increase damage". In what way? Its full of features that you really wonder if the devs never questioned adding. They never thought "what does this add?" when adding the stupid box opening minigame, the like 9 tiers of unlocks to make practice mode functional, the MULTIPLE systems that make the game harder if you're losing so you just lose harder Nearly every boss is 2 bosses and at least 5 ways of summoned allies. Why? Bosses have a meter which goes down when hit. Once its empty, you can do a combo on them... unless they decide to turn invincible. Suddenly gain armor. Exit hitstun anyways. Or run away to summon allies. All of these just take away the turn you earned with no counterplay. All of them let them regen the meter you lowered. Yes, you can painstaikingly lower their meter, do 1 hit of your combo, only for the boss to decide he wants armor (which serves the same purpose as the meter you just broke, but bosses can have both for some reason), exit hitstun, turn invincible or run off screen to summon allies. And during all of this, the meter goes back up. What an amazing reward for emptying it. Quite often, because there are two bosses and 2-3 allies they summon at basically all times, its basically impossible to see what's going on. Also bosses tend to use status effects... on every single hit. Mostly lightning or ice... which disable your defensive abilities entirely. Why do they even exist if I'm going to be 100% trapped after a single hit consistently if the boss happens to be ice based? Just kill me the moment i get touched, its faster. They're the worst bosses I've seen in this genre by far. A visual and mechanical mess. Why are they 9/10 times 2 guys WITH SUMMONS? What's the need? Its full of mechanics the game never explains. Are there ways to deal with boss invul? I dunno. What are my options from a grab? I dunno. What am I trading my gear for? I dunno. Why do my items keep vanishing? I dunno. Or mechanics which only serve to make the game less fun. Why do I need to piecemeal unlock so much of this games basic functionality? How does having the game suck-ass until I grind it make it better? It doesn't. And this isn't even mentioning crap like the "trial" system. You start an area, you get 3 tasks, like "Hit an enemy in the air 82 times", "parry 13 times", etc. You do these, get a start o spend in skill tree. Don't do them... no progression for you! Hope you enjoy spamming air combos as this character with barely any attacks in the air 40 + times assuming you get both hits off every time! Hope you enjoy standing around doing nothing baiting parries! This is fun! I didn't buy this game wit ha supposedly robust combat system to enjoy it at all! No! I bought it to do arbitary tasks like dodging attacks I'd rather just parry because otherwise my character sucks! I could go on and on. The design decisions made here are beyond baffling. Its like every time they added something, they fought "how can we make our game less fun and less succesful", then added that
Would love to like this game but i'm not the target demographic. IT's basically a rogue like beat em up that resembles a bit of a mobile game with the way the currency system works. I'm not a fan of being timed or graded for taking my time to explore. Their isn't a clock but there is a enemy god bar that continuously rises as you play and every 5000 points the enemies get a boost to make them harder which are pretty high upgrades that make a difference. Your also stuck with a mandatory ally that will assist you through out the game which is fun at first but can hinder your advancement if they aren't right next to you or following you close. I missed doors and items due to my partner doing whatever it wants and there is no way to control their movements. Might be polished better when it's out of early access but for now i'm refunding.
I hate modern beat 'em up with a passion but i have to say, this game's pretty good. Maybe it will change depending on what's coming in the updates but so far it got good pacing and play really well with all the mechanics presented. My only negative point is the secrets and progression being so cryptic and not explained that you could easily miss 60% of the content.
I really like the game!! It has a lot of potential and it can be one of the best in the genre of beat em up games, but is a early access so who knows maybe it takes a bad turn. For now the game is okay, I love the art style and the first four characters are really cool and fun to play, but not everything is good, the game has some problems or at least what I think are problems. First you take too long to die, is really boring watching your character just laying while you wait for the game to take you to the main screen, especially in max difficulty. Second are the hitboxes, they are weird sometimes, for example enemies like the maidens can hit you when you are behind them just because the back of the spear slightly touches you character, and when you have a enemie on the floor and they get up sometimes even if you are more fast than them, they still can hit you because the animation already start even if you cancel their attacks, another example is the explosives those thing can still damage you with a phantom damage after the animation is already over. Third is the progression, especially if you just want to play the game in max difficulty, it takes really long to upgrade something, and those upgrades are really a necessity, the best thing you can do is just play the game in easy and get as much coins as you can, and even like that it takes a while, btw some of those upgrades are completely useless. Fourth and finally is the door mechanic and level design, I don't know why they don't let you come back to a room when there's really useful stuff inside that you could save or buy later, the art and design of the stages is kinda boring, I hope they put more into that. And that's it, there's no really to much to say, the game is a early access so still has a lot to give, I'll wait to see what they bring with the new updates because I'm really excited about it. Btw if the developer sees this pls add Wyatt as a playable character that guy is way to cool to not be in the game with that giant sword hanging from the ceiling of his blacksmith.
This beat em up has some serious grit to it, especially for $10 USD. This game incorporates rogue lite features with crafting, character builds, and different path ways through runs. Each character feels unique with a decent set of combos. It’s not up to fight n rage standards but combos do feel satisfying to land as well as parries. Really enjoying my time with this one and remote play is working pretty well.
Good game but need Chinese!
