Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5/day in the week to Aug 11 → 14.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Way of the Hunter 2 delivers a deeper, more dynamic hunting experience built around living ecosystems, advanced animal behavior, and three distinct hunting regions. Track game across a vast North American wilderness, face dangerous wildlife in an African hunting ground, and explore a Rocky Mountain region centered around the Hearth & Hunt Headquarters lodge — an expandable hunting hub with additional rooms, display space, and trophy mounts for showcasing trophies from current and future hunting grounds.
Animals behave and react naturally to their surroundings, rewarding players who carefully study tracks, movement patterns, and habitat conditions before taking a shot. Players can also venture out freely to explore the wilderness, enjoy spontaneous hunts, and experience the beauty of nature alongside their dog companion. Expanding on the foundation of the original game, the sequel sharpens realism, accessibility, and player freedom while preserving the deliberate pacing and authenticity that define the series.
Experience the thrill of the hunt across diverse wilderness regions in North America and Africa. Track and display big game like Moose, Elk, Bears, Bison, and a wide range of smaller animals and birds. In Africa, face some of the world’s most dangerous wildlife, including massive hippos, thunderous buffalo, prowling lions, and stealthy Nile crocodiles.
Way of the Hunter 2's goal is to become the most authentic and advanced virtual hunting experience. Building upon our previous experience, invaluable player feedback, and countless iterations this game will start as the foundation for many updates, expansions and a true long-term support.
As an adaptable hunter building your reputation, you’ll take on unique challenges across three breathtaking hunting regions after being recruited by Hearth & Hunt to help local residents, work alongside your new Hearth & Hunt colleagues, and preserve regional ecosystems. In New Laurentia, investigate the unusual behavior of the local moose population with the help of a skilled dog trainer and a former warden.
In Kilimaya Reserve, support a renowned safari guide, train with an eccentric archery expert, and track down a legendary retired huntress while helping maintain the balance of the ecosystem. Meanwhile, deep in the Rocky Mountains, a colorful elderly Irish carpenter is more than happy to turn your hard-earned cash into lodge expansions with extra rooms and trophy displays—usually while distracting you with stories about mushrooms and local folklore.
Hunting Dog: A loyal companion that detects animal signs, follows blood trails, and tracks wounded game. With regular exercise and training, it grows more skilled over time.
Shot review: Our improved bullet camera lets you break down every shot with precision. Analyze trajectory, speed, angle, placement, and more — learn how to make the perfect shot, every time.
High-Tech Equipment: Advanced gear sharpens your instincts, delivering a more immersive hunting experience with thermal night vision and enhanced reserve monitoring to manage habitats.
Hearth & Hunt Headquarters: A smaller Rocky Mountain hub map where you can unwind or explore the surrounding wilderness. Expand the Lodge as your hunting adventures continue, then fill it with your favorite trophies from across all regions.

2 and a half out of 5. Spent an hour and a half waiting for zebras, 10 appeared and i followed for 15 because terrain was bad. They go over a hill and i follow, buffalos make some some noise nearby and i look, look back and 10 1 star hyenas instead, there was a four star zebra. It happened at least 5 or 6 times with other species, a new species appeared when i look away. So annoyed I hunted honey badgers to extinction. Good game mechanics and such but, if i waited for a certain animal I'd like to have it.
Ich fand es schon schwer bei der ersten Version von The Way of the Hunter die Tiere zu finden die man erschossen hat... ich spiele jetzt 9 stunden The Way of the Hunter 2 und bin echt langsam sauer.... ich habe über 20 Tiere geschossen und genau 2 davon gefunden ... das sind 10 % von den geschossenen Tieren die ich auch verwerten konnte..... lächerlich..... man sieht kaum Spuren ... bedürfnissgebiete sind genauso shcwer zu finden .... ich muss gestehen habe mir mehr erwartet und im nachhinein ärgere ich mich das ich das geld für version 2 ausgegeben habe....

Dear game developer It’s super fun, and following the tracks was pretty straightforward—I played on Easy difficulty. However, I hope the devs can optimize two points: 1. Add a mini-map while driving. 2. Clarify the cost for taxidermy. Please add a hint for clueless players like me that the money shown next to the taxidermy options is the cost to mount them, not their market value! Because of this misunderstanding, I spent all my starting mission money. Now I can't afford the $3,000 rifle needed for the bison mission—especially since hunting regular game only gives me a few dozen bucks each. At this point, I don't even know how to reset/restart this save file.
Even for a demo this is the most buggy game around. Bought items do not appear in inventory and half the time you can't harvest downed Animals. If the janky ass car gets stuck the reset option does nothing and you cant exit vehicle. Maybe fix the endless problems with your game before making new maps and guns! Absolute downgrade from the Way of the Hunter 1
I want to like it, I really do, but it's just not there. Even on ultra it still looks like garbage.
I really, sincerely wanted to give this game a positive review. But I can't, and I look forward to changing it to positive in the future. I recommend this game only for people who haven't purchased WotH (1), (with hesitation) If you already have the first game, you should simply wait. As someone who played WotH1, going from that game to this game is not a night and day difference like I thought it would be. There are differences for sure, but I found myself asking repeatedly why they couldn't have just kept working on the original game instead of making this one (that looks almost identical) from the ground up? It seemed counter intuitive. I have noticed maybe 4 improvements total. Which is not enough for me to confidently justify a $35 price point from the perspective of having already spent money on the first game (I got this one while it was on sale thankfully) - Animals, particularly racks, look much more varied between the fauna. - Animal behavior has been noticeably improved, deer will snort and wheeze, stop their hooves, will be more cautious, etc.. - Graphics look (marginally) better? Still not enough for me to think it was appropriate to make an entire new game. - There's a dog but I literally don't use it. It's almost inconvenient to do so. Cool feature though. - The new UI is good. I appreciate it greatly, just not the map UI, it's atrocious in comparison to the first one. As far as general issues go, there were plenty of them. - Animals spooked via gun shot and herd-panic do NOT run as far as they should when there is no cover. When an animal is in flight mode, its goal is to run until it doesn't feel vulnerable anymore and it feels relatively safe. Going 120 yards to the other side of the hill in a completely open area is not "safe", deer especially like brush and tree lines. It is hilarious I can miss a shot or kill a deer, walk like 15 seconds and then kill another, and rinse and repeat. - Driving around an animal does not cause the animal to re-path in some instances. I've spooked fauna in my vehicle, driven around them, just for them to run straight into my vehicle like 5 seconds after the fact. It's like they lack the ability to re-path after being spooked in some ways. - The "hunt rating" system is meaningless garbage. The practicality of my shot placement, the ethics of my kill, my tracking time, etc.. does not seem to effect the "hunt rating" at all? What is the point of a "hunt rating" if it does not RATE my HUNT? Why can I shoot a Grizzly bear 9 times with a 28 gauge shotgun and 2 times with a 308 and still get an "S+" hunt rating??? That makes absolutely zero sense. - Animal foot step sounds are nearly incomprehensible, especially when compared to the CotW. The little pitter patter of steps are indistinguishable in volume or pattern, and don't seem to actually line up with the animals gait or speed in any meaningful capacity. If I have 2 dall sheep in front of me, and one is 10 yards away and the other is 40 yards away, you would think I would be able to distinguish their foot steps, but no, you can't. It's like a mono-tone audio track that only plays at the same volume level for each foot step. - 100 yards is not 100 yards. 100 yards in game feels more like 100 feet for some reason. I'm not saying you have your proportions wrong mathematically, but something with the camera or whatever just makes the size perception with distance wildly off. - I expected an improvement with the gun audio but was left relatively disappointed. It's not bad per-se but it's kind of lacking for a game that is based around firearms. The guns lack bass, range, and crispness. They sound dull and powerless. - The level style locks on everything is boring and almost takes me out of the experience. I like the skill system, but levels needed for equipment? No. Leave the requirement to money, nothing else. - The map UI is nothing but a step-back. Don't get me started on the experimental build. Much much more problems going on with the multiplayer mode. Why does the LAST game have a multiplayer mode but this one hasn't even added it yet beyond beta? I get it's absolutely riddled with issues, and YES, this is an early access game, but that excuse sort of goes out the window when you have the foundation of a game that already exists, which was released only 4 years ago that looks and functions 98% the same. I guess I expected, naively, that this game would have been a general improvement on Way of the Hunter 1 in its last state, even in early access. Don't get me wrong, I can TELL that there are attempts here for improvement, there are definitely improvements in the game, I just don't get why you would ask $35 from your fan base again for a game that functions like we're back at square one in 2022. It's not necessarily a "broken" game, and many of the issues I listed are negligible throughout the general gameplay, they're more so inconveniences than constant annoyances. The developers are working on fixes, and this game, unlike Way of the Hunter 1, is actually receiving continued support. So, if you already own WOTH1, DON'T get this and WAIT. If you're in the market for a hunting sim and you have money to burn, you may as well get this.
Bullet proof ass animals
It's just OK. It looks prettier than the original game but there's something off about everything else. It's like the Devs did away with most everything that worked in the original and are trying to reinvent the wheel : / I've gone back to the original game for the interim...
crashes far too often to be considered early access. I am unable to complete a mission without a crash, so playing is really unenjoyable at this point.
