81 minutes of almost forgetting my IRL problems. 81 minutes of not regretting spending 24 EUR, despite my unenviable financial situation. 81 minutes of finally saying "goodbye" to CotW. 81 minutes of remembering how hard it actually is to go prone and trying to clearly see something 50 metres away with a spotting/rifle scope through something as trivial as 30-50 centimeters tall grass. 81 minutes of not forgetting Paul Harrell's (rest in piece, legend) truism "there is no replacement for shot placement". 81 minutes of unadulterated immersion. I've almost forgotten that this is one of the main reasons for me loving videogames in general. Thank you, Nine Rock Games, for this masterpiece! I am sure that you're currently working on performance improvement (it's not the best right now). As I've stated in the latest survey, I still dream about the total control over my weapon, Tarkov-style/Receiver 2-style and I am almost sure that you won't disappoint me, because my prediction about WotH getting a hunting dog companion, despite your multiple denials, came up true; it's just that the software is now called "WotH2". :) Cheers to you! <3 I haven't tried BULT so far, but my current take is that, other than WotH2, there is no better (i.e. more immersive and less unrealistic) hunting simulation game in existence at the moment.
It's just OK. It looks prettier than the original game but there's something off about everything else. It's like the Devs did away with most everything that worked in the original and are trying to reinvent the wheel : / I've gone back to the original game for the interim...
Bullet proof ass animals
The Optimization just Sucks
fun has a lot of bugs
Still needs work, but I do enjoy playing.
First impressions after about 6h of play *Not recommended at this stage* The game is beautiful, the audio is good, ballistics are funky and the grind system is a disaster. I do not think I will make it past level 12-15. I would like to hunt not chase "objectives". Having to shoot 50 of whatever I can find just so I can get another rifle or attachment is ridiculously boring. But hey, you can't buy it anyway cause you need another 20 levels of grind.
Ich fand es schon schwer bei der ersten Version von The Way of the Hunter die Tiere zu finden die man erschossen hat... ich spiele jetzt 9 stunden The Way of the Hunter 2 und bin echt langsam sauer.... ich habe über 20 Tiere geschossen und genau 2 davon gefunden ... das sind 10 % von den geschossenen Tieren die ich auch verwerten konnte..... lächerlich..... man sieht kaum Spuren ... bedürfnissgebiete sind genauso shcwer zu finden .... ich muss gestehen habe mir mehr erwartet und im nachhinein ärgere ich mich das ich das geld für version 2 ausgegeben habe....
I'm setting this as a "tentative" thumbs up only because I've enjoyed the game in the 2 hours I've played the game for the relatively affordable price this game is being sold for (if you get it on sale), but there are certainly a LOT of things that the developers need to add to the game (better performance, more firearms, more maps, etc.). If you can afford the sheer amount of DLC for theHunter Call of the Wild I would definitely go for that game instead. I imagine the first Way of the Hunter game is probably more fleshed out as well. On an unrelated note, why are my dogs balls so well modeled in this game? Of the things the game does get right, I wasn't expecting dog balls to be the thing.
