Warriors sprint like circus performers, swords clatter like a drum band, and the story feels like pizza topped with anchovies, oddly tasty and fun.
Tags: Hack & Slash - Diabloesque Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library (1.4 Gig) TLDR: Bad execution of a twitch hack & slash with controller support, isometric view and japanese setting with zombie samurais. Too bad. Has local co-op, some charm, and tight controls but missing animations makes certain critical attacks and movements impossible to excute. The on-screen hud can only be interacted with using the mouse making it impractical for those who wanted a couch co-op experience. Has very open and empty open sandbox map with bad quest scripting, repetitive random spawning foes, a completely unreasonable amount of grind, no character stat customization, and only 3 equippable slots for the whole character. Items are acquired through heavy heavy grinding for crafting components and are very reminescent of a tablet game. For those reasons I do not see myself ever dragging someone to play this. The isometric 2.5d terrain is well presented and you get used to the somewhat well animated tablet samurai sprite. However, not all animations have been made and it is thus impossible to attack straight up for example. Making execution of crucial attacks impossible. Radius of enemy attack is often hard to predict and does not seem to match their in-game attack sprites, especially for higher levelled monsters. Leveling up takes an inordinate amount of grind from constantly respawning monsters. Very limited loot system, of which I was receiving random items early on but then the game stop supplying any whatsoever. Shopkeepers only sell consumable and gold pieces are also a crafting component. Whatever few items you can wield, of which you only have three slots, is crafted through exotic components that must be mass looted and then refined at npcs at in town before then being consumed for item creation. As I was mentally mapping out how much time would be involved in that I started wondering if this is not some kind of tablet port. The quests were all very repetitive and felt randomly generated based on my level with kill X number of Y enemy and report back kind of deal. There are no stats, and the only progression from leveling aside from more base damage is the ability to unlock a new controller faceplate button move every 7 or 8 levels which takes forever. Once you get an unlock it is on a very long cooldown and will do damage mostly comparable to your sword making it useless anyways.

Warriors' Wrath is an action RPG developed and published by Storm Sharks Production that attempts to merge several gameplay styles into a single adventure. Instead of focusing purely on hack-and-slash combat, the game introduces survival mechanics, crafting systems, settlement management, pet raising, and cooperative play. This ambitious design gives the experience a broader scope than many indie role-playing games, offering players a world where progression depends not only on defeating enemies but also on gathering resources, building infrastructure, and preparing for increasingly dangerous battles. The game's premise revolves around a desperate war between humanity and demonic forces. After years of conflict, mankind launches one final campaign to eliminate the source of the invasion and seal the gateways connecting the world to Hell. While the narrative follows a familiar fantasy framework of heroes fighting overwhelming evil, it provides a solid backdrop for the adventure. The journey takes players across multiple regions inspired by different parts of the world, from frozen landscapes to desert environments and ruined territories, creating a sense of scale as the campaign unfolds. Players can choose from five unique character classes, each designed to cater to different playstyles. The Knight serves as a resilient frontline fighter, while the Samurai emphasizes speed and precision. The Viking specializes in heavy melee damage, the Archer excels at ranged attacks, and the Wizard focuses on magical abilities. This variety encourages experimentation and makes replaying the game more appealing, as each class approaches combat and progression in a noticeably different way. Combat is straightforward but supported by a progression system that rewards continued exploration and character development. As players defeat enemies and complete objectives, they gain experience points that unlock new abilities and strengthen their chosen hero. Equipment upgrades play a major role in survival, pushing players to constantly search for better gear and crafting materials. The game's boss encounters provide some of its most memorable moments, often demanding preparation and strategy rather than relying solely on raw character strength. A notable aspect of Warriors' Wrath is its survival-oriented design. Hunger functions as an ongoing concern throughout the adventure, requiring players to find food and maintain their character's condition. This mechanic adds another layer of management that separates the game from traditional action RPGs. Resource gathering becomes essential not only for crafting equipment but also for maintaining survival during long expeditions. While some players may consider these systems an interruption to the action, others will appreciate the added depth and sense of immersion they provide. Crafting and town-building systems further expand the gameplay experience. Collected resources can be transformed into weapons, armor, and useful supplies, while larger projects allow players to establish and develop their own settlement. Mines can be constructed to generate additional materials, creating a satisfying loop where exploration fuels growth and growth enables more ambitious adventures. These features give players long-term objectives beyond simply progressing through the main storyline and help the game stand out among smaller-scale RPG releases. The pet system adds an unexpected layer of charm. Players can discover eggs throughout the world and raise the creatures that hatch from them into loyal companions. These pets assist during gameplay and contribute to the feeling of building a personal adventure rather than merely completing quests. Combined with the game's cooperative mode, which allows friends to tackle challenges together, these features help create a more engaging and social experience than many indie action RPGs of its era. Visually, Warriors' Wrath reflects its independent development origins. Character models, animations, and environments lack the sophistication of larger-budget titles, but the game compensates with a respectable variety of locations and a clear fantasy atmosphere. The world successfully conveys a sense of devastation caused by war, and the environmental diversity helps prevent the adventure from feeling repetitive. The audio presentation is functional, providing suitable background music and combat effects that support the overall experience without becoming a major highlight. Despite some rough edges and technical limitations, Warriors' Wrath deserves recognition for the sheer number of interconnected systems it attempts to combine. The blend of action combat, survival mechanics, crafting, settlement development, character progression, and pet management creates a surprisingly deep gameplay loop for players willing to invest time in its systems. Not every feature reaches its full potential, but together they form an experience that feels distinctive and ambitious. For fans of indie action RPGs who enjoy survival elements and gradual progression, Warriors' Wrath offers a rewarding adventure with plenty of content to explore. Its willingness to experiment with multiple gameplay styles gives it a unique identity, even if some aspects lack refinement. While it may not rival larger genre competitors in terms of production values, it succeeds in delivering an entertaining and feature-rich fantasy journey. Rating: 6/10
