Eugen makes exceptional titles and this is another, however this is the absolute worst of the worst for game disconnection due to packet loss etc. Aussie internet doesn't help however I haven't had major issues with any other Eugen titles, it's borderline unplayable in Warno. Eugen needs to get on top of this as it's a bit of a pisstake for such an established company to not have a better system to prevent players dropping from over 40-50% of games due to connections issues. A real shame as I'd be 100% supportive of the game if this wasn't an issue but the fundamentals are important. No other game gives me this problem.
After a thousand hours in Wargame: Red Dragon (made it to Brigadier General) and the suicide of Broken Arrow (was #1 on the ladder), it's finally time to touch WARNO. I'm mainly a 1v1 player, but if you're thinking about buying this game for single-player — just don't. Buy BA or something else. WARNO has no cutscenes, no scripts, nothing like BA. It's basically just PvE against a stupid bot. Let's start with the few positive things. The game looks nice. After 20+ years of working with this engine, the developers have finally managed to achieve very good optimization while keeping the graphics solid. There are also plenty of good mods, and some of them are straight-up better than the vanilla game. You can add the best maps from other games, fix the balance, and add more units. Personally, I prefer playing a mod called WARNO Actual, which fixes a lot of the game's balance issues, including the division problem I'll mention below. 1. Terrible map balance. One side simply has shorter roads and has more cover. That's it. 2. Terrible division balance. Some divisions are complete trash and nobody plays them, while others are obvious solid picks. The main problem is that Eugen knew about this before they even started selling this crap. If a division has one or two hyped units — an F-117, some cool artillery, or a unique national aircraft — you can expect the rest of the division to be ♥♥♥♥ just so they can sell you those one or two units and make more divisons. Because of all these problems, you can sometimes predict who's going to win from the first second of the game. 3. Unfair ranked matchmaking. I'm a top 200 player this season, yet the game still matches me against some guy who literally started playing yesterday. How is that supposed to be fun for either of us? 4. Balance. Most of the people who made Red Dragon have left the company. Instead of the chess-like balance and carefully designed relationships between different unit classes — aircraft, tanks, infantry, etc. — we now get pathetic balance swings. Every patch, they basically nerf every damage-dealing method except one. So everyone plays artillery. Then artillery gets nerfed and everyone switches to MLRS. Then grenade launchers. Then KPVTs. And so on. The game is also way too casual. The TTK against infantry is absurdly high. A tank deals 1 damage, some crap sitting in a house gets 70% damage resistance, and somehow I end up outshooting an approaching M60 with a 3 HP SPG-9 squad. It takes him 10 shots to kill me, while I only need 7–8 shots to kill him. And that's a 3 HP SPG-9 squad. Don't even get me started on squads with 13, 14, or 16 men. As an actual tanker, I can say that this isn't just unrealistic — it's also extremely boring and kills any sense of dynamic gameplay. 5. No real support for the modding community. Just give us the option to download mods directly from the lobby without having to restart the entire game. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1611600/WARNO/# WARNO isn't a terrible game. The foundation is there, the graphics are good, the optimization is solid, and the modding community is doing some great work. But the balance philosophy, division design, matchmaking, and absurd infantry survivability completely ruin the competitive experience for me. At this point, mods are doing a better job of fixing WARNO than Eugen themselves.
Big step up compared than wargame red dragon, AI is a LOT more fun to fight and workshop provides access to bunch of cool and funky mods

pretty W game, defo reccomend for those cold war strategists
I would like to PLAY THE GAME I PAID FOR. The game is fun, I quite enjoy it. In fact I would like to play it even. Joining a multiplayer game with my friends will at minimum once a day just straight up not work at somepoint through the game; whether that's losing connection, being unable to join the lobby in the first place, or unbearable lag during gameplay. This really shouldn't be a problem with modern games, especially one that is so heavily based around multiplayer.
poorly designed map make the game unplayable, plus the AI is just plain stupid. Multiplayer is also full of problem and balance issue
