Soulmask is currently best experienced with keyboard and mouse. We're actively working toward full controller and Steam Deck support, with a target of completing this in 2026. If you primarily play on a gamepad, we'd encourage you to wishlist the game and check back once that update lands.

Developers seem to endorse letting their admins rule the official servers. At 100 upvotes to this review (if there is enough people that play this game or ever even see it lol) I will post hard evidence of these shady practices exposed and that are endorsed by the developers (I'm sure it will take a good while to reach 100 so the developers may never even need worry. Hard to imagine that many people play this game and read reviews AND give two craps cause that's pure self torture). Brings to mind another studio in the survival genre that did the same thing, then discarded it all sold out and rebranded while leaving a new heaping pile of garbage in their wake. Actually I can remember more than one. But if people eventually come along and do care, for giggles I got ya. -edit- *yawns* really...? Well here ya goes ig. Sorry for the delay! We aren't really paying attention anymore (the devs sure af aren't) but someone just DM me and said its time so drop inc. and back out 'cause this game isn't ever going to be big enough for us to IGN drop like with ARK. Sorry if that's what you hoped for but no HOD specials here. Also if you feel like it, continue to upvote for the review maybe someday it will bring good changes to gaming? Naaaaah lmfao https://steamcommunity.com/id/62630162983872611/images/ -edit 2- ********************** For context: The player shown in these photos 'AsyluxTF' has been in communication with us during and since this all began. He/She has since provided helpful information and direction to previous discord issues they themselves had tried to have resolved. These each time resulted in failure to the point of being entirely ignored even through extreme efforts to get them to take notice, and finally summarily executed from the discord as a scapegoat for their efforts finally bearing fruit. They have from the start shown an interest in wanting to be a part of exposing these practices from the developers, and their disposition towards its online audience. This can be clearly seen through their discord history on these official mediums. They have been helpful through providing further information and direction towards where these problems began and how they progressed, unfortunately counting themselves as another victim of these sorts of environments that have been encouraged by another inactive, unconcerned developer team that only knows silence and sales. **********************

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

False advertising. The second screenshot on the storefront displays an airship, as does the banner. The description of the base game states "two huge maps". Yet this second map, and everything involving airships is locked behind paid DLC. It is incredibly easy to get several hours into the game before you and your friends realise you have to: A. Fork out another chunk of money to access features advertised on the storefront for the BASE GAME B. Start over completely because we chose the wrong map
Here is my impressions after 71 hours. Their is ton of features, and neat automation you can do with your tribe. The storyline is good, and the world although feeling empty sometimes is fine. Combat is fine, although I think the wild life is over tunned and the humaniods are under tunned (opposite of games like Conan exiles, Enshrouded etc). PS I wrote this original review in the time it took me to watch my character sleep in a bed so he could get his "mood" up. Here is the issues you should know before you buy: - Their is Grindy games, then there is this game which is grindy, grindy grind and then some grind some more. Its so slow paced both from a leveling point of view, to a durability on your weapons (i can't go more then 20 minutes without having a weapon break). - The games UI was designed purposely to frustrate you. I have played some games were the UI was a nightmare, but this is utter garabage - and you have the game out with a DLC and its been out 2 years so the person doing the UI has never taken a class subject on the matter. They just chucked everything on random hot keys that don't even make sense. Menu options are so small that to find them is a miracle then you wonder why you were not using that. Updated: So I thought if I stuck it out and afk for 90% of my play time doing crafting combines to get my awareness to 60 that the game would be better. But no, not at all, all that it shows you is the game gets more grindy. They made a punishing durability system that you have to craft 6 mods to each one gear piece only to have to recraft every 1 hour because durability will destory all mods on repair. So the main late game is to RNG hope for a high end tribesmen that can increase durability. This is essentially looking for a needle in a haystack after you wipe out the village 90 times you may come across one. Now that I have seen the game content, all the dungeons are carbon copies of the same dungeon, the entire game feels empty because its the same assets Ruins, Ancient Ruins etc just cut and pasted across the entire map. The mobs that you fight there is really only like 4 different types with different skins but the same moves. This has been one of the worst surival games I have ever played. And I have 1000s of hours in everything from Conan/Dune/Raft, Don't Starve, etc.
NPC pathfinding algorithm makes me want to scream and tear out hairs from my ass. You CAN'T build a base in ANY WAY other than absolutely flat foundation with all workshops placed on the perimeter with 10 meters offset from edges of foundation. No walls. No furniture. Nothing. And even that will not be enough to prevent NPC from finding some wall and stare at it for the rest of their lives in attempt to go from wherever they stand to wherever they need to be. Even if the wall in question is nowhere near their path. And you can't do **** about it. Base building - absolutely worst part of the game. Exploration and combat are fine thou. 4/10
Seeing alot of reviews that are just whining, and sadly enough alot of their points have already been addressed, but their reviews are still there dissuading players from playing. I'm going to be honest, the original game was very janky when I played it, but I grew to love it, and after I put nearly 600 hours into it and put it down I watched the devs over the last couple of years literally fix 75% or more of the things that made it clunky, or hard to enjoy, from gateways allowing gear and followers to making experience faster, or even making ai automation 1000% better and easier to set up. Is it flawless? No. But I would atleast have good faith for devs that have not done anything but release a very cool game, and make it better and better with every patch. Their pricing on the DLC was insanely good, you could get the base game and dlc on release for I think 25 dollars, and that deal was good for nearly 2 months, now the prices are about what you would expect from a normal game and dlc. People who say half of the dlc is missing are very.. incorrect. They could add alot more, but all that is missing atm is maybe 1/6th of the map, and a zone that it will take a long time to progress towards either way. I love the game, I love the new "Make the best tribesman you can" system you have. My only ONLY complaint about the game that matters imo is the scarcity of information on it, they need more tooltips, and better more clear translation in alot of situations as most of the time you will have to alt tab to find answers, alot of the answers will be outdated or wrong, and sometimes there just is no answer because people dont know. Hopefully this just gets better over time, information is good.
Ive only played this game a little bit only 1800 hours so I think i can make an honest review at this point. Ive played PVP and PVE and honestly the the pvp isnt perfect but its still fun. the current whip meta is broken and needs a huge nerf but the devs have sorted a good chunk of issues since the start of EA. The PVE gameplay is engaging and theres plenty to do in both game types. Dungeons, Multi tier bosses, Hunting for stats and traits on tribesmen "unusual liking" lol, building bases (on flying ships now) messing with automation, testing out all the masks, clearing camps, taming mounts, base defence against npcs, trophy hunting. theres a lot to go through but its all a good time. Worth your money and worth your time.
An unfinished overly complicated collection of systems masquerading as a game. Also extremely grindy. Pros: + A lot of time and money spent on making a pretty world and it shows. + Peer hosted server with modifiable settings in the game UI! Yay! You can turn off durability for items. Thank God. + Never crashed in 120 hours of play Cons: - Performance isn't great. Chugs in dungeons and in built up areas. - Combat is trash and should be scrapped and re-written. - Advancement is very linear despite being an "open world" game. - Game systems feel like they were made by different teams and glued together. No sense of cohesive game design. - All the cool stuff like flying and airships is in the DLC released on Day 1 of 1.0 but is still unfinished - Grindy AF. I think it's more balanced for 20+ people on a server working together. - Overly complicated. I had to research almost anything I did online despite all the tooltips. - Confusing and contradictory tooltip information, especially on weapons. - Multiplayer flying doesn't work and players fall off airships ALL THE TIME
