So far this feels inferior (gameplay wise) to Britannia. The graphics are better however. The game is not bad as it is, it's just not as much fun as Britannia and it gets repetetive quite fast. Im putting the game "on hold" after playing for 8 hours, because im hoping future updates will improve upon the gameplay, which became boring for em - mainly because there is no challenge, lack of immersion and lack of gameplay mechanics that have an impact in the world - all unlike Britannia. I will give this game a recommendation if it gets updated heavily with focus on improving gameplay and functionality of camp/base. But TBH it might be better to just move straight to a third installment and really cement the features that worked in Britannia into it, while also expanding and improving it. But for now - you should probably get Britannia, as that is an actual fun and immersive game.

I'm liking the game so far, and I love how you upgrade your troops by giving them land. This game really does stay true to history. The combat in this game is very simple, but satisfying and adds so much to the replayability. It's what kept me playing the demo and the combat certainly doesn't fail here. Some things I think would be great to add onto this game: 1. I would like it if there are more ways to get supplies other than capturing settlements. Maybe you can use your coins to purchase resources off of other factions. 2. I would like there to be some sort of reward for razing settlements. As of right now, there really isn't any reason to raze settlements other than for roleplaying as the evil military ruler. Perhaps make it so you get more supplies and gold for razing settlements. 3. PLEASE ADD TABLES!!! And just add more decorations in general. 4. This may be a bit of a stretch, but if coop can somehow be implemented, that would be GREAT! 5. This goes without saying since many others are complaining about this, but this game definitely needs optimization And I will end things on this note. This game has great potential and a lot of effort has clearly been put into this, many compliments to the dev and those who helped contribute to making this great game.
2/10 Its just way worse than Britannia, its a good idea but Gameplaywies its just bad and not thought through, youre just going from Farm to Farm capturing it, and you get to decide some things that do not rly have an impact on anything other than relation and its completly Negligible, other than that there isnt rly a Gameplay mechanic. It just feels like a Test rather than a game. Oh and its getting my GPU at 80% most of the time idk if its just bad optimization or just a bitcoin miner (Joke).
its definitely worth the waiting i love the simplicity of everything really. i dont have to watch a multiple hour long tutorial on how to understand the basics of the game. although i havent completed it yet, i think so far its very great. ive always loved medieval japanese stuff, like total war shogun 2 and shokuho for mount and blade bannerlord, but this game feels a lot better than those two since i want to experience the reality of being a leader of a small party. not being the daimyo of a great and prosperous clan. i think this game balances perfectly in terms of simplicity and enjoyability. and i've tried warlord britannia and i can say that i think this game is a perfect upgrade, both in design and how the game looks. i've enjoyed both of them due to it's unique game design, but i really feel like this game really fleshes the idea way more. and i am fully aware that both games are made by a single developer and i admire that greatly. it's also a break from the gigantic greedy game corporations selling overpriced unfinished products once a while. in summary, i like this game and i admire the developer for putting lots of time into this game, i hope it'll become better over time.
It's kinda like Mount and Blade but with mobile camps which is cool. Haven't played much yet, but it's still good.
I'm not sure where to start with this because I'm drafting a much longer and detailed review but my goodness the wait was worth it. Britannia might have had some serious issues but Awaji may as well have perfected Warlord. You play as a commander of an invasion force, sent to put down a rebellion on Awaji for the Emperor. The story is straightforward in that regard, but the meat of the game lies in the conquest of Awaji and army management. The combat is simple but accessible and engaging, and you can have a significant effect on the battle fighting alongside your soldiers. While it might not be as tactically or strategically in depth as other games like Mount & Blade, it still makes you feel like a proper field commander. I was worried about the economy of the game, considering every resource and piece of equipment in the game can only be traded, but so far its been generous. Even though I'm still in the 3rd region (out of 10) most of my 40-something warband are decked out with various weapons and armor, and I can't wait to see what else comes next. I get if the price can be a bit of a pain point for some, but so far in six hours I felt my money was well spent. That's all I'll write for now. I hope to later put up a much better and well detailed review of Awaji. For now, become Warlord! Conquer Awaji!
Kinda dissapointing. Feels like a reskinned warlord brittania but with less to do. Optimization is also poor, frequent freezing and really long load times
Feels like if Kingdom Come Deliverance, Ghost of Tsushima, and Mount and Blade had a baby. Pretty damn good.
