Better than the original. So that makes it better than one of the best.
So I was real excited for this one but I gotta say, Im fairly disappointed overall While it has good graphics, animation, and sound, the gameplay feels real stale. Theres nothing wrong with the moment to moment combat exactly, but Im just doing the same thing over and over. I guess it would be fine if it was the first game, but its a sequel... I dont need to vary my tactics at all. Its only ranged or melee, with maybe some resistances to look at. every map feels identical except different enemies, different paths in the map are pointless as exploration has no reward. Sometimes you are “ambushed”, and I thought “oh cool, Ill start surrounded by enemies” but no, you just start in the same room as always, with big stairs leading up to the surface and a door leading to the “ambush” Buying new characters (in taverns, not IAP I mean) seems utterly pointless - why would I not just stick with my starting 4? I never seem to have much gold. All my characters are constantly at “Level Up” status as I can only afford to bump one per mission or so. Anyone else got thoughts, similar or different? I wouldnt be so harsh, but its a sequel that feels like a retread
I used to play the tabletop version of Warhammer Quest. This game is a faithful adaptation and was fun. I encountered a few times where the game prioritized something other than what I wanted to do, but nothing game-breaking. Beat the game rather quickly, but could be due to experience with these types of games and found some good gear early as well.
Menus are bad. Equipping items is a pain. Seeing stats is a pain. Towns are eh at best. Original quest was dropped from support AND steam, no online features work anymore like having new classes (why they could not drop a free unlock for all owners I have no idea other than they do not really care about their customers!). I assume this game has it's days numbered.
Mordheim: City of the damned,
Very repetitive.
