“With excellent art/presentation, exciting breakneck bullet-hell gameplay, an engaging story, and one of the best video game soundtracks I’ve heard in a while, it is impossible for this reviewer not to recommend Rogue Flight. Every aspect was clearly made with love, both for itself and for iconic series of the past, and I can’t imagine anyone trying this game and earnestly saying they didn’t like it.” 10/10 Try Hard Guides

I think this game is a strong recommend as long as you have the right expectations about it. 1) This game is short. The full story is experienced across 4 playthroughs. The first two are about 4 missions each, the last two are about 7 missions each. But those are not all unique missions. There are only about 8 or 9 unique missions overall. Completing all 4 playthroughs takes about 4-5 hours for most people assuming no restarts. 2) The combat is fun, but the level design is bare bones. For the most part each level is the same very simple biome without any real change in landmarks. 3) Upgrades are relatively straight forward and barebones. "Move faster. Recharge faster. Guns do more damage and shoot faster." They're satisfying mostly in how much they reduce time to kill or improve your own durability, but nothing that will fundamentally change how you play. 4) The "good" story is mostly about its vibe than any great narrative. It's extremely straightforward and there's no twists or turns or anything truly standout about the story. It's well presented with three solid voice actors and good visuals, it's sharp and to the point. I'd say you can't actually spoil anything in this story because there's simply nothing to spoil. It captures the feel of what it's going for competently in a way that flows quickly and smoothly mission to mission and that's I think what counts. With all that said, it delivers an enjoyable fast paced and well paced experience that feels good without overstaying its welcome. Probably the first playthrough is the roughest part just because you don't get enough points to start getting your unlocks. Starting with the second playthrough (only like half an hour of playtime in or so) you will start getting ship improvements that make the subsequent runs feel even faster and more frenetic and fun. Don't expect more than that, decide if it's still worth it at the price you pay for it, and if so? You'll probably have a pretty good albeit short time with it. If you really dig it, there are some replayability features for more randomized runs after you complete everything, and you can keep redoing missions to try for higher combos and scores if you want. But overall none of this feels THAT different from the main playthroughs of the game. It's just a decent excuse to play more if you want to play more. So yes, I'd strongly recommend this game but only to those that recognize what it is and what it isn't and are wanting it anyway.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The game is fine. The first expression is better than the payoff. Great music. Nice Art in the outdoor levels. Pro: - Visual high speed spectacle graphics, espcially the sundown. - Special attack of the player looks really cool, nice gimmick - Great 80s rock ost. It has even japanese anime style opening, OMG! - Multiple endings, but... - Multiple weapons, but... - Nice anime style art, good voiced dialogue - Nice story, somewhat Alltynex inspired Neutral: - There are unlockable upgrades in the main menu, although you have to play the game for a while till you will unlock them. I do think this is conflict with the term of arcade game. A arcade game should not have this. And the gamemechanics are not complex enough to be a real roguelite game like Hades. - Its not like Star Fox 64. - Its more like Alltynex turned into 3D - Gameplay gets more exciting in new game plus. Con: - ...at least two of the multiple endings are boring to achieve. - ...the weapons don´t drop random, the upgrades are hardcoded into the chosen path. This is a lame concept - Only seven levels, no secret bosses. - Three paths, but path gamma and beta are just the same as alpha-path, but 1/3 shorter. Really missed potential - Bosses in overal have very simple and slow animations. The boss in stage 3 is veryyyy tedious. It cant get hit for over 30 seconds multiple times. - There is no level geometry like in Star Fox 64, its a endless skybox - The boss death animations are very unrealistic. Instead of crashing into a wall, crashing through the clouds oder submerging in lava they play simple explosive effects and slowly fade into distance. - Its easy to oversee if you are getting shot (much easier than Star Fox 64) - Most of the enemies are not really dangerous, aside from new game plus there it gets difficult. In short: I really like the visuals and the story. But the gameplay design, enemies, enemie-animations, level variaty not so much. Instead of 200 possible colour layouts the developer should have made the bosses more exciting. Music and voice acting is great tho, therefore I cant vote this down.
The art style is visually stunning. The gameplay and story are genuinely amazing; That being said I cannot recommend this game unless you pick it up on sale. I truly enjoyed my time playing the game, but I do not see myself returning to this title outside of the week I initially purchased it. I have beaten the game to 100% completion, and tried every mode on offer- but there is not THAT much replay value for me. I think the ROGUEFLIGHT mode would be much more interesting if the loadout equipped was changed every stage, adding more random difficulty. All being said, I actually find the story and characters pretty motivational, and feels unique enough to make me want more. I wish the game was about 2x the size it is currently, in regard to story progression. The endings are satisfying, and don't leave many questions unanswered- which is an extreme feat in its own right. I feel if the full run of NG+ or a potential 5th story ending featured 2-3 more locations with some unique enemies like the laser drones, the non-discounted asking price would be much more fair. I highly recommend the DEMO to any considering a purchase, as it is a great experience that is very true to the paid version of the game.
I like this game, and I REALLY want to love it because it has an awesome concept that combines old school, fast paced arcade shooter action and mechanics from "AfterBurner", "Harrier", and "StarFox 64", combined with a sharp, anime inspired art style, banger soundtrack, and sound effects that really give you a dopamine hit when you pull off some great maneuvers, trick shots, and combos makes for an amazing experience, for sure. However it feels like the game has flaws, specifically in the hit detection area as the third-person depth of the crosshair doesn't feel like it aligns properly with targets that require a bit more accuracy, and the first-person person perspective feels like it's more of a rail-gun shooter. And the "parry" mechanic where you barrel roll to deflect incoming enemy fire doesn't always feel like it's doing what it should be. Hitboxes feel kind weird too. some bosses have a weak spot that you have to hit while they're shooting at you in patters and sequences, but it feels like no matter how you maneuver to hit the target, you're just always getting hit by every laser beam they fire. My first playthrough I got blown up by something i didn't even see. I still don't know what it was but it felt like a cheap shot. Now, none of this is to say it's game breaking or makes the game bad (yet) but it definitely feels like it could use some polish, but considering it's a game that came out almost 2 years ago, and the last update was steam deck compatibility in 2025, I don't think it's getting any major updates any time soon. But as is, the game is serviceable and playable, and it's still a pretty awesome and (for me) nostalgic game that's well worth your time.
If you play the demo you've seen the entire game. Boring story with zero twists and levels that loop the same 5 enemies at you for way too long.
Y'all, this game [REDACTED] hard. The music, the visuals, the thrill of seeing numbers go up and the score announcer backing you up with ULTRA as you whip a jet stream into the enemies in your last desperate attempt to take the fight to the AI horde. The team behind this game put more than just passion into this, sweat, blood and possibly [REDACTED] went into the mix. And you can absolutely tell. My friend recommended this ages ago, and I'm glad I finally got it. From the Demo alone you can taste what you will get, but damn, what a thrilling package as a whole, go support the devs and treat yourselves as well, Rogue Flight will take you on a banger of a trip.
The last level on New Game + is visually bonkers. You can unlock a Retro Mode with a chip tune soundtrack and pixel art for the character's avatars(10/10)
Fairly poor for a Star-Fox-like. I'm genuinely shocked the reviews for this are so high. Enemy bullets and missiles are hard to see, which is an absolute no-no for a shmup, and the only reason deaths aren't frequent is because you have a metric ton of health that recharges so long as you keep kill combos high. Your own shots are also hard to see, and aiming is unreliable because your shots don't line up with the crosshair most of the time, leading to you dancing around simply trying to hit enemies. Defeating enemies also doesn't really feel satisfying at all; you just roll around bullets while holding shoot down and they explode into explosion.jpg and get replaced by new ones and that's all of the levels. I guess you can also use the tailspin sword move if you feel like getting shot while dealing damage. The levels are also just skyboxes with enemies spawning in, a few levels try to throw obstacles at you but it pales in comparison to literally every other Star-Fox clone on the market. The presentation is the best part, and even then the game only looks kind of nice because of the overwhelming amount of filters it uses. The anime characters and the Arrow are the only models that look like they had any effort put into them. Also, I'm not sure why its called ROGUE Flight and tagged as a roguelite when it isn't even remotely anywhere near a roguelike or lite. Levels don't have random gear and upgrades in them. Nothing resets when you start a new "run". You get 4 different kinds of points which go to unlocking new upgrades that can be equipped any time outside of levels. I wasn't aware that having an upgrade system (that doesn't even improve the gameplay in any way by the way) made your game a roguelite??? I am shaking my head in real life. This really seems like someone made a space shooter mockup and was like "wow I could make money off of this" and dressed it up a bunch before releasing it on Steam without actually going back and making a proper fun video game.
Short but sweet game where the rule of cool is very present.
