This game feels like stepping back into the Xbox 360 era. It gives strong Gears of War vibes with its easy combat, straightforward level design, and no-nonsense action. The graphics have definitely aged, but the gameplay still holds up. You genuinely feel like an unstoppable Space Marine, tearing through endless waves of Orks with a chainsword and bolter, and somehow it never gets old. I played the entire game on the Steam Deck, and it ran surprisingly well. It did crash twice late on (around 6 hours of non-stop gaming), but after the third launch, I didn't have any more issues, and the rest of the playthrough was smooth. The story was actually engaging, and I ended up enjoying the twists and turns that Captain Titus has to go through. I would 100% recommend this game when it hits one of its sales, especially if you want that old Xbox 360 nostalgia.
Screen shake makes this unplayable for me. I get motion sick immediately. Nobody seems to have been able to do anything about it in the 15 years since release.

Навіть в 2026 грається дуже непогано. Що сподобалось: - важкість і сила космодесантника. - добре переданий абсурдизм і пафос всесвіту 40к. - достатній вибір зброї, можна підібрати щось під свій стиль. - колись був непоганий мультиплеєр, особливо кооперативний режим. Зараз, на жаль, практично мертвий. - на відміну від Space Marine 2, не зроблений росіянами. Що не сподобалось: - левел дизайн дуже слабкий - однакові сірі коробочки. - на високих рівнях сладності космодесантник стає дещо "паперовим". - фінальний бос = QTE. Тоді так було модно.
FOR THE EMPEROR
Если решите проходить сейчас, то имейте ввиду, что игра не особо дружит с современными системами. В одной из миссий стопроцентный вылет после катсцены (фиксится переустановкой на диск C + проверкой целостности файлов), плюсом треть катсцен слишком спешат в сравнении со звуковой дорожкой (это фиксить не пытался, возможно поможет ограничение в FPS в сторонней проге). Ну а так все то же самое, что и в первой части, но похуже. Для ознакомления пойдет
