This was my second time playing Space Marine and I must say it is the game closest to being called a perfect slasher - we have a great shooting part, a great slashing part, great design and even a more or less interesting story. 10/10. The only concern I had before and still have now is that it is too small. :) I really want more, but now we have the second part, so I'm really looking forward to it.
I really enjoy playing as a space marine in this game. hack and slash with the chain sword was fun. fighting armies of orks and demons was very enjoyable.
Cat Pee game
Outstanding game! very entertaining. Recomend playing on Hard mode.
It's a fun, gory first person shooter. The game lore is vast and entertaining.
Still lives up to its name, after all these years
Played this after 14-15 years of my original playthrough an it holds surprisingly well. It is shorter than I remembered, after playing Space Marine 2 I had the feeling that this one had a longer campaign but it has more or less the same length, arguably shorter. I never had the chance to play the multiplayer, hopefully discord communities can fix that now. I originally thought it was an aftertought but it looks really in depth. Overall great game, now I appreciate details from SM2 much more. FOR ULTRAMAR!
Great game! The story is rather simple and straightforward, which i think is a positive trait most of the time. The enjoyment of waves of enemies flying at you and the power you feel as an Ultra Marine is great! The combat feels great if not slightly janky at times, bt that's what you get for these types of games. Reminds me of the wolfenstein titles or Gears of War i grew up on. I wish the lore was heavier though. There are voice logs throughout the campaign but most immerse you in characters thoughts while not divulging much of the Warhammer lore. They are still much appreciated, just wish we had more background on enemies and factions. Overall great game! Can't wait to play the second.
amazing game
Great game, think Gears of War but replace cover mechanics with melee combat. If you know 40k the story, characters, and setting are spot on.
