About
After millennia of slumber, Vargard Nefershah mobilises her dynasty’s legions to annihilate the Adeptus Mechanicus interlopers who unknowingly settled upon her world. Across the galaxy, Magos Dominus Faustinius is summoned to bring his hard-won expertise to bear and ensure the Necrons do not succeed. The conflict soon becomes a crucible of unanticipated significance, drawing to it external actors stranger and more deadly still.
Two playable factions, two narrative campaigns, two highly unique play-styles and one important choice – who will you lead to victory in this arcane technological war of cold metal hatred?

Assemble your force, deploy your warriors and crush your enemies in intense turn-based tactical battles. To succeed you’ll need to master and adapt to each faction’s unique abilities and playstyles, as well as the diverse range of combatants at each side’s disposal.
New environmental mechanics require you to maneuver like never before. Play to your chosen faction’s strengths and weaknesses – take cover behind terrain as the Mechanicus, or destroy it as the Necrons.

Fight for control of an entire world, capturing and defending regions from the forces of the foe while generating and managing crucial resources.
Race against the Sankhotep dynasty’s global awakening and drive back their deathless legions as the Mechanicus, or defend the tombs of your people as the Necrons and crush the verminous interlopers.

Deploy and upgrade a characterful entourage of Tech-Priest leaders as Magos Dominus Faustinius, or customise your own court of Necron nobles as Vargard Nefershah.
Manage each of your territory’s garrisons and assemble your forces wisely for each mission, choosing from a vastly expanded selection of fighters from each faction’s range.

Sublime music and audio design by critically acclaimed composer Guillaume David will once again transport you to the grim darkness of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
Incredible illustrations combine with highly detailed and authentic environments and characters to bring the Warhammer 40,000 universe to awe-inspiring life.

Veteran author Ben Counter, best known for his Black Library novels, returns to tell the next chapter of the Mechanicus saga. Atone for past failures as Faustinius in his ongoing war against the ancient Necron species, and follow the inexorable rise of Vargard Nefershah as she seeks to reclaim the dynasty’s crownworld from the Adeptus Mechanicus.
Experience an epic conflict skilfully woven over multiple campaigns, replete with narrative events. Your choices will shape not just the course of the war, but its climactic outcome.

Reviews
It's fine. It's different from 1, which was very much create the dankest customization possible using gear. This isn't that, but it's still fun, and it's its own thing.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Well, I liked it.
I had fun with this one. The story and characters are enjoyable, the voice acting is stellar, and I think the moment to moment gameplay feels better than Mechanicus 1. Chessmatching your skitarii and techpriests around the map is still enjoyable, and the necrons working slightly differently in terms of mechanics was a welcome change-up. The soundtrack from the first game is one of my all time favorites, but the music here is still pretty darned good. Children of the Omnissiah Part 2 alone is worth the price of admission. The pitfalls: save often. There's some bugs the developers need to address. I played to the end without many problems, but I did get hit by one infinite loading screen bug because I alt-tabbed out during a scene change. Late in the Mechanicus campaign, I became unable to send Scaevola on missions. And there were about 3-4 times the wrong text displayed during wrap-up scenes. (Never during something plot critical, thankfully, but that should still get fixed.) The "time advancement" missions also get repetitive. You're going to be reclaiming territory/defending (place X) a lot over the course of the game, especially if you want to level everyone up. They try to spruce some of these up with those in-mission narrative choices, which give you a little gameplay bonus later on. They're fun, but the basic repeating structures start to wear over time. I tend to binge games, but I had to give myself time between sessions after a while. Still, despite the flaws, this was obviously a labour of love that maybe just shipped too early. (I hope the devs are allowed the time and support to make some balance tweaks and bug fixes.) There's lots of fun details here. I kept circling the world map a few times and zooming in, just to see the miniature fights happening in different territories. Every time my transonic blades hit an enemy, I smiled at the deep ringing sound. It's little things like that that show the team was really into this game. Overall, while there's some bumps, I'd recommend it, especially to Adeptus Mechanicus and Necron fans who want to experience a fun story with their favorite factions.
hyvä peli
I mean, its all right.
FUN AND INTERESTING
A great sequel to the first game. slightly poorly optimised, however I found reducing some of the graphics settings and capping the FR at 60 fixed most of these. After a few hours, closing and reoping the game is required as it's a bit of a memory hog. Aside from that, fantastic new entry to the series. Meaningful tactical choices, varied missions, fun characters. Here's hoping for some DLC to play a certain faction though!
The true upgrade to mechanicus (first game). Being able to choose between Necrons and Mechanicus is a boon! Made for the fans of Warhammer 40K Fantastic! 10/10
