Enjoyable if rather janky. The DLC bound achievements are a negative. Pick it up on heavy discount.
A very enjoyable experience, basically the 40k equivalent of diablo but if there's to be one massive draw it's the sound design. Every ranged weapon (i'm not playing melee in a game with bolters and lasguns) has an amazingly punchy sound where every shot/psyker power has a believable weight and impact (also the psyker lightning bolt sounds like a hardbass sample which is unfathomably based)
been in my backlog, i do enjoy arpg, after getting past the cluncky controls, there is deep gamplay here

I've enjoyed this game over the years I've owned/played it. I dabbled a bit into the onine play for the few achievements there, concidered trying some seasons, but mostly was a solo player. Across both modes I had invested time into all the classes, and found that the last class added [Hierophant (sp)] was a wonderful way to cap off the game. I enjoyed the pet builds/classes the most, but all classes were fun to play. Lot of diversity in gear, abilities, psalms, etc. to try out different builds... and easy enough to reset if you wanted to. Concidering it took me 500 (casual) hours to get 100% achievements... I think that speaks to the ease of putting down and picking up this game. Everything is mission focused, so no open world to try remember what you did or did not do. If you were working on part of the campaign, it will be listed as something to do... simply start the campaign mission and carry on. The story across the campaign(s) was quite good and interesting, the visual style of the game was very good, and the music fit perfectly (although not as epic as Mechanicus). All maps spead across the campaign end up being used for the random missions post campaign... butbecause there are so many maps selected at random, it really never feels "samey". Lots to shoot for achievement wise (steam and in game) to unlock perks, points, etc. And the VOID Crusaade is a nice alternative to grinding out missions in the "end game".... either gear farming, leveling, etc... About the only negative I can think of for the game is that not all barrels, boxes, and barriers are destructable... meaning that you will be flying along as you run through the map until you suddenly stop moving... either because you are zoomed out too far to see, too much flashy animation is happening on the screen, or not really looking out for some tiny barrier/blockade that has captured you... it truly gets annoying over time, but in the grans scheme of things is pretty minor.
a great game for warhammer fans and hack and slash
