Absolute garbage pretending to be an RTS.
i rarely leave reviews, so when i say this is one of the worst games i've wasted my time on, and is so bad i felt compelled to warn people away from it, i mean it. just some of the "highlights" include: the design choice - this is cartoonish; from the artwork to the animations, this is a step backward from DoW2, most comically of all being the main hero/elite unit, despite being 8 feet tall and weighing half a ton, looking like a clown running on ice... the UI - everything from button layout to info panels, it was either illogical, different from both previous entries in the series, or things just straight-up removed from the previous games storyline - disjointed, switching between each faction after every mission so you don't build any connection with any character, and even parts of the story of the first game just straight copy-pasted, including some parts word-for-word the same. gameplay - you have a population cap, but good luck getting there. you also get an income tax based on your current population - the more units you have, the slower your requisition and power come in. cannot recommend people avoid this enough. do not ever waste your money. watch someone else who has already wasted their money playing the game so you get what pitiful and meaningless storyline you can from this, and move on.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ devs
every dawn of war after the 1st got further and further away from what made dawn of war so good. this is not even dawn of war anymore. just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hero squad type game.
a complete waste of time and resource, dont bother with this. just think that this never existed
игра недоделанна, жаль
I have played Games Workshop games since Shadow of the Horned Rat and DoW3 is by far the worst game ever released from this company. From the textures and sounds to the chosen character models this whole game feels wrong. This game feels like it was made by people who have never seen a space marine before or know what Warhammer 40,000 is. I thought DoW2 was bad but at least that was playable, unlike this travesty. I paid less than £1 for this game and I feel I was massively overcharged.
crashes all the time, poor performance even with a 5080.... terrible game, massive disservice to the franchise.
真不咋样,自定义战争地图非常少只支持最多3v3,而且种族只有兽人、星际和灵族跟1比起来差太多了,最关键是有时候还会闪退,匹配也没人玩,也就模型比1精细点了,总结:拉完了,期待4
Dawn of War III looks gorgeous and sounds spectacular, but beneath that not-quite-fresh coat of grimdark paint is a mechanical and narrative tyre fire. Story? Difficult to say as it's confusing by way of cycling between the different factions. There's war, always war, we got that part, but some dudes were on the planet, then some other dudes arrived, then found some *other* other dudes were already there, or... something? Instead of a dedicated and character-driven campaign where we can connect with the heroes (which Relic really learned how to do by DoW II) we're punch-driven into some bizarre round-robin approach. You want to play the space mages of culture (Eldar)? Take a number, get in line. You have to dry heave your way through the Space Marines and the Orks first. The whiplash is... I'm tired, boss. You are tossed from one protagonist to another, putting momentum in the shredder and immolating any connection to the supposed hero of the hour, because each mission is set on the back of the last, so you're kind of ... undoing what you just did? You go from shouty Orks to soothing Eldar, and if you hate Orks like I do, that's great, but don't get used to it! Back into the gravitron for another spin of which-faction-do-we-get-next. I can't think of another game that's done this kind of 'storytelling' before, and maybe that's because it's a terrible idea. It feels like DoW 2.1, but stripped of the strong, anchoring heroes that made its predecessor a masterpiece. If the story is a disjointed mess, then the gameplay is a carpal tunnel simulator. There is no camera rotation. The zoom distance is suuuuuper tight, giving you the tactical awareness of a grunt looking through a keyhole. Moving around this restricted battlefield requires holding the middle mouse button to drag the camera, a design choice seemingly engineered to induce RSI and rage in equal measure. The alternative is using the arrow keys, and I don't know if you've seen a keyboard before but the designers didn't! Because this will mean you're either reaching across yourself or swapping your mouse hand across. It's not without technical fumbles. The game crashes to desktop just often enough to keep you paranoid, except it's not paranoia if they really are out to get you. Because the autosave notifications lie like a cheating spouse. It'll say it's autosaved, but... did it really? Surprise! No. Your reload will be a slice of time back in the past before the crash happened. FML. I don't know what happened in the studio to make them pivot so hard so as to land face-first into the pavement, but this is the aftermath of that. The first two games set their respective gold standards, the first being great for squad and resource management, the second more focused on hero-based strategy. With Dawn of War III, Relic got high on their own supply, forgot what made them famous, and delivered a game that nobody asked for.
