About

Take back the city of Tertium from hordes of bloodthirsty foes in this intense and brutal action shooter. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the new co-op focused experience from the award-winning team behind the Vermintide series.
In the depths of the hive, the seeds of corruption threaten to turn into an overwhelming tide of darkness. A mysterious and sinister new force is seeking to take control of the entire city. It is up to you and your allies in the Inquisition to root out the enemy before the city succumbs to Chaos.
As Tertium falls, Rejects Will Rise.

Built on the legacy of Vermintide 2’s best-in-class melee combat, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide introduces intense WH40K gunplay to the mix. Master the balance between ranged and melee combat as you fight through a slew of enemies. Feel the impact of each swipe, swing, and slice of a chainsword, or fry some flesh with a lasgun.

Darktide is a co-op game. Wandering too far, risks punishment by foes looking to immobilize or capture stray Rejects, such as the slavering Chaos Hound or the Moebian Trapper. Once you fall prey to such foes, only your teammates can save you! More than that, your innate toughness – your determination to press on through the pain – only recharges when you are in the proximity of your strike team.

Create your own, unique character and customize their physical appearance, voice, and origin. Choose your class to determine which unique traits and skill sets they will make use of in battle. Will you be a seasoned veteran of the Imperial army, a snarky outsider, or a fiery zealot? The choice is yours.

Step into the violent, dystopian world of Warhammer 40,000. From boiling hot industrial factories to the decaying water maintenance zone afflicted by constant acid rainfall - Tertium Hive is a hard and unforgiving place even at the best of times. Your role is to serve the zealous Inquisition by embarking on missions to exterminate the threats lurking in the depths of the hive city, or die trying.

Adapt to the erratic whims of Chaos with conditions- mutators that add a spontaneous challenge to your mission. Your team must learn to adjust, adopt new tactics and change up their loadouts to face these ruthless challenges.

Great game, took me a little to warm up to it, even as a 40k fan, but now I absolutely love it. Great classes, already started making my charakters after models I have and converting models after the charakters I have ;)
Rocks
Really tight combat / gameplay. I recommend checking that your PC specs are sufficient.
heretics turn into red mist this is the emperors will
great game
Solid game for $10
Game fun, just add solo mode and ill be happy
TLDR: Darktide is awesome. Try it out if you like horde shooters, melee/ranged hybrid gameplay, fast paced combat, COOP PVE, Vermantide, and/or Warhammer 40k. There are also some RPG elements with characters builds and weapon crafting that adds a ton of variety. /// This is a wonderful horde shooter and Warhammer 40k game. I have been playing regularly since the beta and I can say that it is in the best spot since release. There is a high skill curve if you wan to put the time in but it is not so difficult that it's inaccessible. This game is best with friends, but I play a mix of quick play, party finder, and organized groups and have had a great time. Some positive notes since the initial release: -All of the four original classes have been reworked and refined. -There are three new expansion classes and they are all very fun. -All 7 of these classes are viable up through the hardest difficulties. -Each class has a ton of build variety and multiple strong builds in all modes of gameplay. -The new player experience has been reworked and flows much better. Not everything is explained, but it's much easier to get started now. -The crafting system has been completely re-worked and functions well now. It feels fair and there is minimal RNG. You can be very targeted in your gear grind if you are a new player. So if you know exactly which weapon, blessings, and perks you want to unlock you can prioritize that through gameplay. Also, if you have the resources, you can brute force the crafting system to get exactly what you want (it's just more expensive in in game currencies). -The 'end game' mode (Havoc) is very fun. The party finder can be frustrating, especially for new players, but there are multiple discords where you can organize games and meet folks. This is where I spend most of my time and it is why I am still playing. -The base game mode is turn key and I can always find games on quickplay. -If you are on PC this game has great mod support. -Again, the Warhammer 40k ambiance is great. From the art direction to the voice actors. It's all very well done. Some negatives: -Two of the game modes that have been released have been kind of dead on arrival (expeditions and mortis trials). These aren't for me, but I hope Fat Shark can retool them so more folks can enjoy them. Honestly, I think if they just take the best idea from both game modes and merge them it might increase their popularity. If you are a player coming from Vermantide hoping for Chaos Wastes this isn't it unfortunately. -The cosmetic shop is pretty hit or miss and runs on a biweekly rotation FOMO style. They've added more pages/content to the rotation cycle, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Cosmetics for DLC classes is also very limited. -The maps are beautiful in this game, but new maps are slow to be produced. It doesn't seem to be a focus for Fat Shark. -Some people have optimization issues/performance issues with their PCs. There are some guides floating around that can help. -There is no 'Solo Mode' without mods. Sorry console friends. Mixed musings: -This is technically a live service game so keep that in mind. Updates seem to roll out on a quarterly basis with minimal balancing in between updates. There are typically two larger updates and two smaller updates every year. So bugs and balance issues can take awhile to fix. Also there are periodic content droughts. There is a ton of content right now for new players though, and if the game play really hooks you it is enough to stick around for. -The focus currently seems to be on releasing new classes. This is cool, but some new maps would be nice as would a refresh of game modes. -There is a story. It's pretty cool. It's hard to access and figure out without poking around a lot. It is also moving at a glacial pace. All that said the gameplay is top tier and there is a ton of content for a new player. I think this is hands down the best horde shooter on the market right now.
