About

Take back the city of Tertium from hordes of bloodthirsty foes in this intense and brutal action shooter. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the new co-op focused experience from the award-winning team behind the Vermintide series.
In the depths of the hive, the seeds of corruption threaten to turn into an overwhelming tide of darkness. A mysterious and sinister new force is seeking to take control of the entire city. It is up to you and your allies in the Inquisition to root out the enemy before the city succumbs to Chaos.
As Tertium falls, Rejects Will Rise.

Built on the legacy of Vermintide 2’s best-in-class melee combat, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide introduces intense WH40K gunplay to the mix. Master the balance between ranged and melee combat as you fight through a slew of enemies. Feel the impact of each swipe, swing, and slice of a chainsword, or fry some flesh with a lasgun.

Darktide is a co-op game. Wandering too far, risks punishment by foes looking to immobilize or capture stray Rejects, such as the slavering Chaos Hound or the Moebian Trapper. Once you fall prey to such foes, only your teammates can save you! More than that, your innate toughness – your determination to press on through the pain – only recharges when you are in the proximity of your strike team.

Create your own, unique character and customize their physical appearance, voice, and origin. Choose your class to determine which unique traits and skill sets they will make use of in battle. Will you be a seasoned veteran of the Imperial army, a snarky outsider, or a fiery zealot? The choice is yours.

Step into the violent, dystopian world of Warhammer 40,000. From boiling hot industrial factories to the decaying water maintenance zone afflicted by constant acid rainfall - Tertium Hive is a hard and unforgiving place even at the best of times. Your role is to serve the zealous Inquisition by embarking on missions to exterminate the threats lurking in the depths of the hive city, or die trying.

Adapt to the erratic whims of Chaos with conditions- mutators that add a spontaneous challenge to your mission. Your team must learn to adjust, adopt new tactics and change up their loadouts to face these ruthless challenges.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

fun
I watched a few videos on YouTube about the game, and it reminded me of "The Killing Floor", a horde based survival game with objectives, etc. I am a fan of the WH:40K Franchise, and so I thought that it would be a good combination. The gameplay is fun, but even on a relatively modernised system, the game frequently drops to around 30fps, even on the early missions where the hordes are relatively small, and far-and-few between. This has been a massive turn off for me, despite running the game on medium graphics. The story-line doesn't really have much basis to it, and insists upon knowledge of the 40k Universe before playing. Characters speak about things like the player is meant to know what the roman-esque language is supposed to represent, and it can take away from the experience when I am running through a hallway listening to gobbledy-♥♥♥♥. Also, a lot of the main-quest line protagonists are females. This isn't inherently negative, but their dialogues are pretty boring, and the characters aren't particularly likeable, or introduced very well. They just get thrown in your face, and you have to put up with their voices for the next 5 hours. Overall, the gunplay and setting are good. The worlds are large and heavily 40k Eternal War Grim Dark vibes, but the game runs poorly, and the characters are sucky. I will continue to play because I enjoy 40k and need a new game to sink some hours into after work, but I wouldn't recommend it perosnally.
actually a great time, make sure you buy it on sale like any other game and dont ever pay full price DLC EVER

It's kinda like Vermintide, but not exactly, so feels fresh-ish. Considering Vermintide is more melee focused, where ranged weapons are a powerful but very limited resource, its melee just feels better and has more depths. Darktide, on the other hand, can't decide whether it's a shooter or a slasher so both options feel meh. Among the pros I can mention that Darktide sounds amazing and has great design, although this design makes visual clarity pretty much nonexistent - every frame is heavy with details and my 30 y/o eyes have a hard time distinguishing enemies from surroundings. The biggest flaw in this game, imo, is TERRIBLE perfomance. I have a 7900xtx paired with 5700x3d and in 4k I regularly dip below 60 fps on medium, settings and never go over 90ish (with balanced FSR 4.1.1 mind you). This is just unacceptable. You need to go online looking for config guides to make the game perform adequately. Overall - having fun, so If you enjoy coop games and crave some 40k - this might work for you.
I never saw a game run this badly, it run much worst than many better looking games, and it taking 100 GB of SSD does not help.
By far the best Co-Op shooter of the current market, and frankly the closest thing to a successor to Valve's L4D2.
