I played this game on the Steam VR, which appears to be the platform for which this game was intended. The controls of this game are incredibly unclear and require a *lot* of tight gripping and generally unintuitive handling that really take me out of the experience. I am not a big fan of the miracles. I'm glad they're mostly restricted to pushing obstacles out of the way, because if I had to use them on command this sad planet would be doomed.
Love this game!! Ok, so yeah, I really wish there was a VR option for Space Marine 2, but this still gets you in there. :) First off, it has a good story, and it is a full game, not just a little bit of gameplay that is called a full title. Gun use is good, a little hard to aim, but still done really well. Only weapon I have issues with is the grenade. You can only carry one, and the physics seem really off on it. Throwing it feel like your throwing a super heavy rock, not going very far, not seeming to go where you really want it, and no "cook off" option so timing the explosion is a bit of a pain. Taking cover is all on you, no controller duck option, you need to physically get down. :) The one actual NEGATIVE that I can say about this game is that every time you pass through a load into the next chapter, you lose all of your weapons. I am fully armed to the teeth, tons of ammo, ready to rock!! Get into a drop pod, hit the ground... and I have zero ammo and an empty bolter pistol. WTH?? I have picked up a grenade launcher twice and both times it was near a chapter load, so I have yet to even be able to use it. :( But I still have to say this game is totally worth it, it scratches that VR 40K itch. But still waiting for a VR mod that let me play Space Marine 2!! :D
Pretty decent shooter. Feels like something out of the mid 00s in a good way. Theres some occasional jank but pretty typical issues you'd get with VR. the interface works better than i expected and utilizing weapons works easy. The faith powers on the other hand are really finicky, i got stuck for 5 minutes trying to get the slow time to work properly during its tutorial i doubt i'll ever use it in the heat of battle. Weapons dont feel like they have weight but ive only encountered like 1 game to really do that well and it was its entire gimmick. A decent experience for the price grab when its on sale
It's...Ok. If you're a WH40k fan, yes, worth a look when it's on sale. It delivers on atmosphere and doesn't make any flagrent mistakes on the setting (like say, romancing an alien or something). The sisters are pretty true to lore. The actual gameplay is just ok though. It's a lot of repetitive stuff, and a lot of corridor battles. There's an obvious budget at work. Not a dealbreaker but at best this is a C+ game.
game just sends waves of enemies, stuck closer to the end from being killed with 15+ ranged enemies from across the room
multiplayer doesnt work
Good - A Warhammer 40k VR game Neutral - The visuals are only ok - Neat abilities that are inconsistent in their activation Bad - Audio - Leveling is off which makes the sound stage confusing. Can never tell if enemies are close or far away. - Enemy AI - Enemies can both walk and shoot through some objects in the environment that stop you and your bullets. - Controls overall are janky Conclusion If you are a Warhammer 40k fan you'll most likely find some enjoyment here. Just make sure to get it for a good discount. For everyone else just skip it.
