Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 22 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The successor to the Dungeon Keeper series that didn't live up to my expectations. I didn't like the visual style at all. Everything is in acid colors. The monsters also don’t stand out in any way; not a trace remains of the former charm of DK’s characters. The game is overloaded with some unnecessary mechanics, such as rituals, leveling trees, structures, potions that look like spells, but do not waste mana. It’s clear that developers needed to bring something new to the familiar formula, but I hardly used any of it. The minions are very weak, and training does not help, especially considering that after level 4, levels hardly increase in the gym. In addition, missions in the campaign do not give any time for planning the dungeon and preparing monsters: the heroes begin to storm on average after 10 minutes. A mad rush, like when playing an RTS, replaced meditative thinking and planning, which did not benefit the game. Therefore, I used the same tactics in all missions: building an island of 10-15 guns on the path of the heroes, capturing them and luring them to my side. In such conditions, the inhabitants of the dungeon are needed only to work in the forge, library and torture chamber. Monsters are now divided into two groups: those from the portal, which can do some useful work, and those from the abyss, which do nothing but fight. But the monsters from the abyss are just as frail as ordinary ones. They can be trained in a special fighting pit, but they die after the first or second fight against heroes, so this is pointless. Another annoying mechanic: if there is an enemy/door/trap in a monster’s field of vision, a monster will attack, but you cannot snatch it from the battle. Therefore, when storming enemy fortifications, monsters will endlessly move from one trap to another, from door to door, from enemy to enemy, hungry and tired, until they die or until there are no more enemies and fortifications. More often than not, a monster dies and another one immediately jumps out of the portal to replace it. It’s impossible to somehow become attached to your minions, as it was in DK. As a result, while playing WFTO, I constantly caught myself thinking how cool it would be to play DK 1 or 2 instead. I don't recommend it.

While I respect the effort put into WFTO, I cannot recommend this game at approximately £25.00, considering it is 11 years old. It's not a terrible game by any means, but it didn't quite captivate me like DK 1 & 2 did. Dungeon Keeper 1 has a dark, gritty Mordor-like atmosphere - like I am truly managing a dungeon. In WTFO, however, the designs of each room and floor look too different from each other, like one is green, one is red and the other is yellow... there are too many colours used, which makes the overall look feel disjointed. I would prefer if the floors had a more consistent style, with similar designs across all levels, to create a more cohesive and harmonious appearance. It's nice that they brought back the original narrator, but he sounded more menacing in DK 1. I'm not sure if it was the microphone or production quality or even unintentional, but he sounded like the ****ing Devil in the original game. In WTFO, he didn't quite capture that tone, though he still adds humour to the game. The music in DK 1 and 2 was atmospheric, dark, and immersive. It featured haunting, orchestral melodies with medieval and sinister undertones, creating a strong sense of mystery and tension. The soundtrack effectively enhanced the game's eerie and mischievous mood. In WTFO, the music wasn't as compelling. What I want to say is that the developers did a good job overall, but the game lacks the personality of the original Bullfrog titles. The colour palette needs to be darker - more black, brown, and red - to give it a grittier, more sinister feel. Right now, the excessive use of bright colors makes it seem less gritty and more like it's catered to kids. The colours in WTFO remind me of the Ayleid Ruins in Oblivion - just... meh (No disrespect to Oblivion(it just suited that game)). It would also be great to see different factions, such as Dwarves, Orcs, Goblins, Humans, and Elves, each with their own distinctive units and room designs. DLCs with new units and features could add variety. However, as it stands, the game feels like a rehash of Dungeon Keeper, but not as good. I barely see anyone even using online features anymore. Rather than hotch pot of creatures of all kinds in every player Devs could have set different races in it. IMO that would have been better, but i get we all craved another Dungeon Keeper. For me, I’d rate it a 7.5/10. It’s worth trying, but I can’t say it captures the charm and darkness of the original DK games. It doesn't have any cherry on the cake, like with Horny in DK. If you're unfamiliar with Dungeon Keeper, you might enjoy it more. However, I wouldn’t recommend it solely based on the price, considering how old the game is. More sinister feeling next time.
You know, I'm glad I did rate this game when it first greenlit, cause I hated it and would have said it was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ rip off but I trued it years later, when it was more complete, and I'm glad I gave it another try it's am amazing game now, they did really good
The game is fun, but it can be quite taxing at times. Compared to DK2, there are many new features, some of which are necessary quality of life improvements. However, other changes are unnecessary and overcomplicate features. There are some aspects where I wished for more: Story and level design – rather weak; DK2 is simply better and more fun. Art design – goofy and cartoonish; DK2 struck the perfect balance between dark/gritty and goofy/ridiculous. Combat and unit control – some improvements, but combat is (still) a colourful mess. I would love a more streamlined version of War for the Overworld. There is extreme overlap and redundancy in the "upgrades" (spells, constructions, potions, dungeon upgrades, sins, etc.). Ultimately, I don't see why I would ever replay War for the Overworld when DK2 is waiting on my shelf.
So many bugs. Loading in can make it unscrollable or even no UI. Would like to recommend but this is just too buggy even today.
It is in spirit a new dungeonkeeper but it doesn't come close, somehow everything is just lacking.
it's good. I mean, come on. we all hoped for a dungeon keeper. and it gets the base recipe right. What it doesn't get right is the pace. On a lot of maps, you are pressured for time. There's no time to build your dungeon. You are better off making one big space with all rooms in that space because you have neither time nor space to make it look nice/efficient. That's okay if it were rare, but it isn't. Only a couple of maps give you space and time to build a nice dungeon. Thus, loads of spells and sins go kind of unutilized because you just don't have the time. The story is okay and the narrator's voice gets the 'evil' job done. Regarding the dk basics.. this did it better than Dungeons 3 (didn't play any others in the series). But the pace is better in Dungeons. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1531279351
If you want dungeon keeper, go play dungeon keeper. This is a good RTS with a dungeon keeper styled skin, if you try and play it like a dungeon management sim you're in for a bad time. Game is absolutely obsessed with forcing you to rush, level timers, narrator won't shut up about needing to rush, absolutely obnoxious enemy units streams if you don't rush nownownow from the start of the level. Willing to bet most people that wanted a spiritual successor to dungeon keeper wanted to build up a dungeon and not rush down every level like in an RTS.
