You may have noticed I have played this game for about an hour. I got all the achievements in that hour. I have pretty much no desire to play this game again. The thing with this game is that it's kind of trying to be a roguelike with metaprogression, but it lacks the content to do so. Enemies will drop random powerups that increase aspects of your ship, like the power of your bullets, amount of bullets, amount of missiles, and the speed and area of your bullet-and-enemy clearing field-- basically a rechargable bomb. Between runs, you can take money you've gotten by defeating enemies and purchase permanent ones that basically have you start with X levels of the upgrade in question. I challenged myself to get every achievement without the use of the health-up one, because I assumed this system, and the lack of downgrading, would quickly cause the game to become too easy. I mean. I was *kind of* right, I guess. The thing with this game is that run difficulty swings wildly, entirely dependant on RNG. It's possible to get very few upgrades early on, and then because enemies become tanky quickly, become unable to easily defeat them and get more powerups and oops that's a downward spiral in the making. Or, you get fed a million fire rate ups, and suddenly the game stops having any difficulty. My final achivement, for getting to Level 12, was basically just me waiting until the game fed me enough that I didn't really have to try. Not like you particuarly need to try anyway. This game has like, 6 enemy types total, maybe 2 of which are actually threatening. The lack of variety and creativity in *everything*, from enemies to music to shot types (there is none, lol) to upgrades to even shot patterns (if it is possible to have "stock bullet patterns," this game has them) makes the game very dull and very repetitive very quickly, which is a death blow to any aspiring roguelike. (also you can't rebind controls in-game and there's no autofire button. in *2024*.) There's good *here*-- there is a certain aspect of mindless fun in becoming a killing machine, even if it never goes very far due to lack of variety in upgrades. Bullet clearing is very satisfying if you can get multiple enemies caught and instantly killed in it. But it doesn't last. There's not enough here, not enough polish, for me to even feel like I got 5 dollars worth out of the game.
This is basically Z-Warp with the same score attack element as well as upgrade system of Null Drifter (EDIT: It has just been brought to my attention that this game actually came out before Z-Warp but was a console exclusive title until now). This is worth it at full price, but now is also a good time to get it as it is currently on a 20% discount as of the time that I'm writing this.
このゲームも悪くないですが、 個人的にはPanda Indie Studioの別の作品「Z-Wrap」 のストーリーモードの方が好きです。 The game is OK, but I personally prefer the story mode setup in Panda Indie studio's other game Z-Wrap.
Slightly flawed but still arcadey fun. Enemies showing up from the sides on the bottom half of the screen, enemies shooting bullets from below, and there not being enough contrast between player and enemy bullets makes some of the deaths feel unfair. I got all the achievements in about an hour. Would definitely be better with some more visual clarity, better bullet patterns, and more unique upgrades. But if you are looking for a simple game you can easily pick up for a few minutes at a time this is worth it.
I totally love playing this game. Its definitely what you call a bullet hell. You will die a lot, but you will keep coming back to try & get further than the last time. I also bought it on the Playstation 4 & logged in 19 hours. You can collect coins to purchase upgrades for your ship. You can buy things like more bullets, more damage, better fire rate, more HP, & missiles. You can also collect power ups while playing. There's nothing more satisfying than having your ship's bullets, fire rate, & damage increased & being able to rip through enemies. While I don't think the developers will add more, I think if they made some of the following additions, it would improve the game: - Add more enemies - Add more boss enemies - Add new power ups: * Magnets: Ship can collect coins & power ups from further away * Twin Ships: Side by side ships, which essentially double your firepower * Speed Up: Ship moves faster while firing. If you like games with a retro look & feel, this game is for you. Its definitely worth the price you pay ($4.99 US). On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this game 8.75.
The mechanics for a good game are here, but the content isn't. This is the level of content I would expect from a free or $1-2 game, not a $5 one, and honestly I don't really expect much from a $5 one. There are three basic enemy types, two elite enemy types, one boss, and eight repeating background choices, and other than that it's just endless repetition. With some work this could be a great little game, because the graphics and sound and basic mechanics are all there, it's just that nothing else is. You can see 100% of what the game has to offer in half an hour if you're even remotely competent at shooters.
fun little shmup with a neat bomb mechanic and a cool aesthetic. Worth the price, so pick it up and help grow the leaderboard!
What can I say, It's a great arcade shooter. Fun, chaotic and ramps up pretty fast. Honestly a great game for the price.
Very fun little game. Presentation is effective for what it is, mechanics are simple but intuitive, control feels solid. Actually pretty impressed for five bucks
Pure, Addictive Fun Void Gore is a game that proves simplicity can be synonymous with fun. At first glance, it might seem like just another spaceship game, but its addictive gameplay and smart progression system guarantee hours of entertainment. Strengths Guaranteed Fun: The game is extremely enjoyable. The action is fast-paced, the enemies are varied, and each playthrough is a new experience, keeping the player constantly engaged. Addictive Progression: One of Void Gore's big highlights is its progression system. By defeating enemies, you earn coins that can be exchanged for significant upgrades to your ship, such as new weapons, stronger shields, and special abilities. This feeling of constant evolution is incredibly rewarding and motivates you to play "just one more round." Weaknesses Short Duration: The game is relatively short, which might leave you wanting more once you reach the end. Easy for Beginners: The learning curve is very smooth, which is great for newcomers, but it can be a negative point for more experienced players looking for a greater challenge from the start. Despite being a short game with a lower initial difficulty, this doesn't diminish Void Gore's brilliance. On the contrary, its simplicity and progression system make it a gem, ideal for anyone looking for a fun and addictive experience without a huge commitment. It's a highly recommended game for anyone who enjoys a good arcade shooter.
