I usually don't review games before beating them, but I can tell this game is going to be great when it's finished. I haven't played a game with a general vibe this good since Prodeus. The HUD is great. The font they chose for the level titles is sick. The music is good, and the enemies are good so far. I think the models for the enemies are the only thing that really visually need work. Idk they just look weird. Out of place, kind of. Such a classic!
Keeps crashing for me.. I've updated to latest 4090 driver, verified files, changed settings. Reinstalled. I dont know why.... i did delete alot of dublicate files with glary utilities, but I reinstalled??/ fook knows tbh
This game is pretty DANK as far as overall game play and it a bit like the game DOOM. The music is very doom and gloom and it is very funnny. Lots to discover and its playing OK so far. I shall play this game later and continue playing this game as its very fun to play even though it is quite dank - like my pet terrapin has set up home in the dank doom like fps dankness he he he.
A simple but extremely fun shooter that has been designed to reproduce as much as possible the same feel and vibes of Quake I. Although some enemies are maybe way too similar to their Quake counterparts (albeit all the models are original and home-made), I think this game does show its own style and charm. You are thrown into an extremely dark world full of metal, rust, mud, dirty water and biomechanical demons, and you must survive by exploring the hostile environment to find as many weapons and resources as possible. Navigating such environment to discover secrets is fun and satisfactory, and the shooting is precise and brutal. The weapons are maybe a bit too classic, but they look beautiful and give a satisfactory feedback. I also liked the movement, that is a bit "wobbly" but very responsive, a combination that, in my opinion, makes it more fun and immersive. As of now only the first episode is available, so I hope this game gets all the support it deserves to persuade the dev to continue the development and bring us new episodes. So far I love what I'm seeing, I definitely found the long missed vibes of the original Quake, so I guess this game is already fulfilling its purpose. Cheers guys!
I have only played the first few levels. If you liked Quake you should buy this game. You will not be disappointed.
So far the best Quake 1 clone I've ever played. IMHO it's definitely better. A great tribute to it. Everything seems balanced. The levels are very well laid out. The lighting, textures and polish is amazing. Surprising enough I haven't had a crash or found a bug. Great work dev!!
This game is very similar to the original Quake which I love. I also really like the art style though it's a bit dark in my opinion. My biggest complaint is the lack of enemy damage feedback, it's a bit hard to tell if you're actually hitting enemies until they keel over or gib. Overall I really like this game because I'm a sucker for boomer shooters and games that take inspiration from Quake, I really hope the dev finishes this one day because I love what they've created so far.
