This is a refreshing change from all the other clone VR games being released daily. It's simple and intuitive to control, uses 360 room scale very nicely, imagine playing snake inside of an Omni theater but also include the bottom half of your view, a full 360 dome...now that doesn't sound very cool but you know in VR, simple sounding things are more impressive in VR. The graphics are clean and slick, the audio is very, very well done, a lot like Racket NX (I'm playing with the deluxe audio head strap), and the gameplay is easy to pick up but challenging as you progress. If you enjoyed the arcade ship shooter in The Lab, you're gonna really like this game, it's very much taking a classic arcade title/genre and bringing it to the present through VR - not a remake but a re-imagining of what made 80's arcade games so much fun to come back to.
This game is absolutely great because it's deceptively simple...and as such becomes so addictive. It's basically a MUST HAVE game to get introduced to the possibilities of VR. It's delicately designed even though minimalistic. And the music evolves in complexity as you pass levels in the game. I love the fact that it really takes advantage of the entire 360 degree around you yet you never have to worry about the "real space" around you because you only have to rotate on your center and move your head. It's kind of space invaders meets space command + super cool music And as a non gamer by jumping in early I got to be the high score on one of the modes you can unlock by reaching thersholds in the game ;0)
I played this game on the Oculus Rift with Touch controllers without any problems . The game seems very simple from the video gamplay on the store page. And the tutorial explains the very basics so you'll know what to do at the start. But once the bosses come into play, the game does not hold your hands. Gameplay soons becomes very frantic and somtimes confusing. The game will use the 360 space around you. But I found that if you only focus on what's happening 180 degrees in front of you, you'll mostly be fine. The game music is good. The graphics are simple, yet well done. Enemies look unique from other VR games. In fact, the gameplay itself is pretty unique. I don't think I have ever played anything like it. At the sale price of $2.99 it's an easy recommend. Spherical gameplay with unique gameplay to it. Rating 7/10
Very different from anything else out there and very fun. The precision pointing controls make it quick and intutive to handle, though the rules of the game itself take a bit to understand. There's several minibosses and each is defeated in a different way. There's also about a dozen mode variations to spice up the main game.
Solid game. doesn't really hand hold, learning the mechanics was simple though. music works, very emersive and sets a pace to make you want to get a better score each time. the bosses have a learning curve to them but not so much I felt annoyed. Its different, addictive and simple mechanics that will take plenty of time and fun to master, just a solid game. If you want to try something different from the typical VR formats I would suggest giving this a go.
http://www.83830.com/game/201706/105031972_1.shtml
5.5 out of 10 My opinion is quite opposite to the other reviews. Granted it's something different for VR which is commendable and it's a slick well presented title. But in the clear light of day it's a pretty basic game that's not that exciting. A 10 minute stint is enough with little to keep you coming back often.
Virush is simple yet entertaining game that’s easy to pick up. The graphics are simple yet stand out well, and the controls are dead simple. The core gameplay is nice, easy to get into and makes good use of the entire space around you. The game could use a bit more polish, but for the price it’s available for, you can’t really complain.
Super fun especially the challenge modes!
A great little arcade game where your move your cursor around a 360 degree dome collecting things that turn into mines if you don't collect them fast enough and fighting mini bosses by moving your cursor in a particular way around them. It's very simple but suprisingly fun. You have to balance fighting the miniboss against collecting the things. The only thing that I think could possibly need balanced is to collect bombs slower and maybe give the player an extra life after so many points. I'm not sure though. There are also a dozen shorter challenge modes which change up the rules up in fun ways, and since the VR community is so small I was able to place pretty high on a few of them. A very underrated unknown little VR arcadey game.
