This is a really solid idea for a game suffering from design flaws that sadly break it for me. You get 3 lives before you have to restart a level, which is kind of frustrating considering the game throws stuff at you constantly, but I might just be bad. There is NO incentive to kill 99% of mobs. Next to no item spawns, next to no gold spawns. Might as well just fly past them. Knockback on hit on a game that can get as slippery as Viktor feels counterintuitive to how fast the game wants you to go. I wish I could recommend it, but it just falls a bit short of every expectation
Fun ;p
A Surprisingly Polished Indie That Nails Atmosphere and Momentum

🇺🇸 English 👍 Recommended 🎮 Introduction Viktor stands out more for its atmosphere than anything else. From the opening moments, it’s clear the game is aiming for a cinematic, immersive experience with a carefully controlled pacing. It doesn’t overwhelm you with systems or complexity early on, which helps it ease you into its world without friction. 🔥 Gameplay The gameplay revolves around a fairly linear progression loop with light exploration and combat elements. Combat is straightforward but not mindless. Positioning and timing still matter, even if the system isn’t deep enough to be considered hardcore action gameplay. What works best is the pacing between combat and exploration. The game understands when to slow down and when to ramp up tension. Narrative interactions are also woven into gameplay in a way that adds context without breaking immersion. 🎨 Graphics & Audio Visually, the game has a consistent and well-defined art direction. It doesn’t aim for AAA realism, but instead focuses on strong environmental identity and mood. Some areas do a great job of reinforcing isolation and tension. Audio is a standout element. The soundtrack is subtle but highly effective, especially during slower exploration segments. Sound design in combat is clean and responsive, giving good feedback to player actions. ⚖️ Difficulty & Progression Difficulty sits in a moderate range. It’s not punishing, but it also doesn’t play itself. You’ll need to understand enemy patterns and adapt to encounter pacing. Progression feels steady, with incremental upgrades that keep the experience moving without stagnation. 🧩 Fun & Replayability The core loop works: explore → fight → progress narrative → upgrade. It’s not designed as a long-term grind game, but rather a contained experience that respects the player’s time. Replay value mostly comes from revisiting decisions and optimizing playthrough efficiency rather than deep systemic variation. ✅ Final Verdict Viktor is a solid indie that clearly knows what it wants to be: a focused, atmospheric experience with light action and steady pacing. It doesn’t reinvent anything, but it delivers a cohesive and well-executed package. ⭐ Recommended for players who enjoy narrative-driven games, light action systems, strong atmosphere, and shorter, focused experiences.
