Good in theory. Bad in practice. Needs to have EA slapped on it and some patches from feedback and it'd be a good game.
I do recommend the game but I want to point out some flaws the game has, especially since it is a "complete" game and not an EA game. The game has content, it has a solid story, there is combat, farming, crafting, you can buy a house, and explore. However, there are some missing some QOL features. Inventory management is sort of wonky. There are no buttons to auto-add items to a chest. So you have to shift click(It was Y click for me but it didn't work so I changed the keybind to shift click) items into the chest and you don't know if that item is in the chest, so I end up shift clicking most items into a chest then pick up the items that aren't in the chest off the ground. This can get annoying. Inventory management is a pain to say the least. I was/am intrigued by the story and the game itself so that isn't a huge deal for me. The inventory screen/backpack is rather large, so that is good, but it can fill up pretty quickly if you're a loot goblin like me lol. The combat took some getting used to. It's a bit finicky and clunky. However once I got the hang of it I stopped dying so much(Just a little tip, the spear is really good). People say the game is abandoned, but you cant abandon a game that is technically finished. Could it use some QOL updates? Sure, but at face value(Especially since I got it for $2) Its definitely worth it and I definitely got my monies worth! So try it out if you have some spare monies and want to experience something a bit retro and different.

The difficulty feels so random. The slime was honestly one of the hardest bosses so far-even harder than enemies that come later-because of how the attacks work and your stats when you might first encounter it. Durability is extra annoying in this game for a few reasons: - If you buy a new weapon, the current weapon still exists. - It is mostly better to just buy a new weapon so that when your current one breaks, you can switch. (In terms of cost effectiveness) - Once broken, the current weapon seems to cost the same to repair as to make a new one, so unless you have upgrades... - Some items seem to be unable to be repaired? - If you sell the current weapon, the weapon still exists in the shop and doesn't seem to disappear (30 days later, my broken axes are still there). - Some items deplete extremely quickly. The game is extremely buggy, especially on the steam deck where name input is bugged, so you have to do extra work to change your name. Some spots cause you to teleport for no apparent reason, hitboxes are annoying when you watch your attacks go through the enemy (not a miss or dodged or blocked, just doesn't seem to hit at all)-especially annoying at lower bow levels where you already get a lot of misses, dodge, and blocked (the arrows also pass through on misses and dodged). Crops are a pain because they are sometimes randomly unable to be placed-sometimes going into and out of the menu will make them work again, sometimes you have to leave and re-enter the area, sometimes you need to move around to a different angle. Not very clear on what to do. I get that you are expected to learn, but what is the sprinkler range? How can you tell when there is no real indicator to tell you that a crop is watered? You find out by losing the crop due to not being watered. Looks like you can lock yourself out of quests. One can be locked out of if you aren't prepared ahead of time (ie. have already looked up the solution or restarted), have bad luck (glitches), or otherwise cause the quest to fail, potentially before you even receive the quest. (There are supposed to be fixes for it, but in some situations, including in the case of a glitch, you could still potentially lock yourself). I hate the lighting options. You basically get to use a temporary light that you need to farm to craft or buy, a placed object (that requires string to craft), a hat that slightly extends your vision range, and an off-hand light that slightly extends your range. The hat means you can't use other hats. The off-hand light means you can't use a shield or a bow or any other two-handed weapon. Fortunately, the shields aren't that useful anyway once you get the iron sword and find iron to upgrade and then repair it with. It isn't clear what items drop on destroy and what items are destroyed on destroy. Where is the save button? Does the game do continuous save? Does it only save when you quit the game (the only time the game tells you it will save)? Again, not very clear. Inventory management is horrific with no craft from nearby chest options and no chest labeling. Combine this with key items not being consumed when they are no longer needed, items that probably have no use, but are rare enough that you don't want to risk it, and other such items and your inventory gets cluttered with keys and other items that have no more use. The game feels incomplete with some items seeming to do nothing beyond being sellable items despite some potentially having very valid usage. (Seeds that can't be placed even though it would make sense, for example). Given how long it has been and how some of these issues have likely already been reported, I doubt we'll see any updates.
This game could be good, but i could not get very far because it crashed a lot.
Arcane Vale, developed and published by Dynamic Zero, is an open-world action RPG that captures the spirit of adventure through exploration, crafting, and discovery. Presented in a charming pixel-art style, it invites players into a vast and colorful world filled with dungeons, towns, forests, deserts, and hidden ruins waiting to be uncovered. At its heart lies a simple but effective premise: you set out to uncover a long-lost treasure left behind by your father, a mystery that serves as both motivation and a backdrop for a much broader journey of self-discovery. What begins as a modest quest quickly expands into a sprawling adventure, encouraging players to explore every corner of the map, gather resources, and forge their own path through a living world that rewards curiosity and persistence. The game’s strongest quality is its sense of freedom. Arcane Vale gives players a large, interconnected world that can be explored at their own pace. Whether venturing into dangerous caves, crossing mountains, or sailing to distant islands, there’s always something new to find. The map is peppered with NPCs offering side quests, merchants selling rare materials, and secret locations that reward the player for thinking outside the box. Each region feels distinct, with its own enemies, environmental hazards, and lore to uncover. The world is dense without being overwhelming, maintaining the nostalgic feel of classic 2D adventure games while offering the openness of a modern sandbox. The result is a blend that feels both familiar and refreshingly unrestrictive, evoking the exploration-driven satisfaction of titles like Stardew Valley or Terraria while maintaining its own identity. Combat in Arcane Vale balances simplicity with tactical depth. Battles are fast-paced and rely heavily on timing and positioning rather than complex combo systems. Every enemy has distinct attack patterns that must be learned and exploited, creating a satisfying rhythm of dodging and striking. While the early encounters are forgiving, the difficulty gradually ramps up as you progress into more dangerous areas populated by faster, stronger foes. Boss fights, in particular, test your reflexes and resource management, rewarding players who pay attention to visual cues and enemy behavior. Weapons can be crafted or upgraded, and a wide array of tools—from bows and bombs to magic spells—encourages experimentation. Combat feels fluid and responsive, with a clear emphasis on player skill rather than stat grinding, which makes every victory feel earned. Outside of battle, the crafting and survival systems give Arcane Vale a layer of strategic depth. Players gather materials from the environment—chopping trees, mining ores, and hunting wildlife—to craft weapons, armor, tools, and consumables. Cooking and alchemy play an equally important role, allowing you to create healing items, potions, and buffs that can make the difference in tougher fights. Farming is also available for those who prefer a slower, more methodical experience. These systems interconnect smoothly, creating a gameplay loop that keeps you engaged without feeling repetitive. Each crafted item or completed quest feeds into a larger sense of progression, and the act of building your inventory and upgrading equipment feels rewarding throughout the adventure. Visually, the game’s pixel-art presentation captures a cozy yet adventurous tone. Every environment is hand-crafted with vibrant colors and fine detail, from the glow of torches in underground caverns to the tranquil shimmer of sunlight on water. The animation, though minimalistic, conveys personality in the way characters move, attack, and interact with their surroundings. The soundtrack complements this aesthetic beautifully, featuring soft melodies during exploration and more energetic tracks during combat. The music is subtle yet effective, reinforcing the game’s relaxing yet adventurous atmosphere. Sound effects are crisp, enhancing the tactile feel of combat, mining, or gathering resources. Despite its simplicity, Arcane Vale succeeds in creating a believable and immersive world through consistent art direction and sound design. Where the game occasionally stumbles is in its technical polish and pacing. The open-world structure, while liberating, can sometimes leave players unsure of where to go next, and quest objectives aren’t always clearly communicated. This can lead to moments of confusion or backtracking as you try to piece together what the game expects of you. Inventory management can also feel cumbersome, especially when juggling crafting materials and quest items with limited storage space. Some minor bugs and interface quirks can disrupt the experience, and while none are game-breaking, they highlight the limitations of a small development team. Additionally, the story—while serviceable—never quite reaches the emotional or narrative depth that its worldbuilding hints at. It functions more as a framework for exploration than a driving force, and while that works for players who value gameplay freedom, those seeking a tightly written plot may find it underwhelming. Despite its imperfections, Arcane Vale’s strengths shine through in its ambition and atmosphere. The game thrives on the joy of exploration, offering a world that feels alive and inviting. Every mountain path or cave entrance tempts you with the promise of discovery, and the satisfaction of uncovering hidden treasures or completing a difficult dungeon is consistently rewarding. The blend of action, crafting, and adventure creates a loop that feels both engaging and relaxing—a balance few indie games manage to strike. Its imperfections, while noticeable, are the kind that can be forgiven in the face of its sincerity and charm. It’s a world built with care, and it shows in every small detail, from the design of its creatures to the layout of its villages. Arcane Vale is ultimately a testament to what a single developer can achieve with vision and passion. It doesn’t reinvent the genre, but it captures the essence of exploration-driven RPGs with an indie sensibility that makes it endearing. For players who enjoy open-ended games with rich worlds to explore, satisfying combat, and light RPG elements, it offers dozens of hours of content at a modest price. It’s a game that encourages players to slow down, take in the scenery, and lose themselves in the rhythm of adventure. While it may lack the polish of larger titles, its heart and creativity more than make up for it. Arcane Vale stands as a love letter to classic adventure games—one that rewards curiosity, celebrates discovery, and invites players to find their own path through its sprawling, magical world. gra ma potenciał ale wciaz potrzeba OGROM pracy od potrzeby DUZO lepszego tutoriala po system oznaczania misji gdzie mamy isc do lepszego end game oraz dodanie tryb coop
