Victory Road is a boxing simulator that uniquely puts you in the role of the coach, not the boxer! As a coach, the fate of your boxer’s career, and potentially his life, is in your hands. Raise your boxer and utilize various strategies to climb up the ranking board.

It's a well-made game, but in its current form, it isn't for me. With some reluctance, I have to say I can't handle the grind aspect in the training part of the game. I will say that this game does the grind better than most. This feedback is for the devs, and I say this with love: I like the mini-games. I just don't want to play them thousands of times and I became very bored with balancing my macros. If training mode had had more of a "one more turn..." aspect, or somehow went deeper into the fighter's personal life (making rent? girlfriends? other problems?), I would have probably been able to get hooked. I'm not sure whether getting into the other aspects of managing a fighter would have helped... After I awhile it felt like training just took too long. Another note on the nutrition system: my fighter always gained weight, and initially I thought, "Ugh, I'm going to have to starve this guy back down to middlewight and then this game is going to make me figure out how to pack on enough muscle at that size to keep my stats up," ... It felt weird when the game didn't take nutrition in the obvious direction of weight classes and missing weight (with all the strange variables might open up - not every frame can make it to super heayweight) but I was actually glad it didn't, because that would have made me think more about nutrition, and I absolutely did not want to do that. It makes me feel like perhaps the nutrition premise is a bit of a flawed concept, or that it's flawed in its current implementation, or, and maybe this is the answer, in the size of its footprint within the game. Weight cuts and balancing the morale loss that comes with it is something I've seen in real life, it can be devastating. That is actually something that would be a positive side to that coin: a mini-game you only have to play when you fail to make weight, and that costs morale and gives it a purpose. I generally love fighting games and trained for thousands of hours in real life in boxing, MMA, and other martial arts. Willing to give it another shot later in development.
Fun game, build an 8-bit fighter to your liking and style. plenty of stats and analytics shown if you're into numbers, and some extremely interesting fights with randomly generated characters. Love the game, wish this had more marketing so more people could enjoy it. I hope the developer continues to support and update!
Unfortunately seems like one of those games that will forever be stuck in early access, no news/updates in 2 years. That being said, it mostly feels complete and very fun. Probably the best 2D boxing sim on the market, and I don't even think its close. This blows them out of the water by miles. Definitely recommend even if the dev ghosted.
Fun management game... Gets way too grindy at the end though.
This unfinished game by one guy that has not been updated in years is still, by far, the best boxing game available on steam. dev, if you read this, you did good here my guy
I'm giving this a positive review because even though this game is probably dead in the water, I really enjoyed my time with it and want to see the developer come back and succeed.
Jogo muito foda, tem mecânicas geniais e que nuncam perdem a graça. As lutas são melhores ainda, tem que ter muita estratégia e esforço pra ganhar.
I am addicted to this Game! OHHH this game rules! I only wish I can customize my manager as well. I wanna have different corner men. Also an addition to a corner cut man game to help with health regen would be so fun!
A fun little build-an-athlete that offers good tunes, impactful visuals, and a simple but compelling gameplay loop. Some issues, certain elements are somewhat buggy to display and the game isn't always clear with conveying certain informational elements. The UI on some screens is not at clear as I would like. However, I think it looks great, sounds great, and is well worth the price tag given to it.
