One of those games with unbriddled ingenuity grafted upon solid basic-gameplay features. On top of that, as if just a side hustle, it does a fantastic job in the atmosphere and telling department. 12/10, as far as ARPGs go. 12/10, as far as any game goes! This is pure, crystalline fun.
Victor Vran is an action RPG developed by Haemimont Games and published by EuroVideo Medien that enters a crowded genre with enough originality to separate itself from more traditional dungeon crawlers. Instead of relying entirely on familiar mechanics centered around endless clicking and passive stat growth, the game focuses heavily on mobility, player skill, and combat flexibility. The result is an adventure that feels energetic and rewarding while maintaining the satisfying progression systems that fans of loot-driven RPGs expect. The story follows Victor, a monster hunter who arrives in the troubled city of Zagoravia after supernatural forces have thrown the once-lively region into chaos. Dark creatures roam abandoned streets, mysterious events unfold around every corner, and Victor finds himself uncovering the truth behind the corruption consuming the land. The narrative itself is relatively straightforward and serves primarily as a foundation for the gameplay, but the world design does a strong job creating atmosphere. Gothic environments, ruined architecture, and supernatural themes give the adventure a distinct identity that suits its darker fantasy tone. Combat immediately becomes the centerpiece of the experience. Victor Vran moves away from slower, more static action RPG formulas by emphasizing agility and positioning. Players dodge incoming attacks, leap around battlefields, and carefully time their offensive abilities rather than standing still and absorbing damage. This constant movement gives encounters a more skill-based feel. Battles demand attention and precision, making victories feel earned rather than automatic. One of the game's smartest decisions is abandoning rigid class restrictions. Instead of forcing players into predefined archetypes like warrior or mage, Victor Vran allows combat style to evolve naturally through equipment selection. Weapons significantly impact gameplay, with heavy hammers delivering crushing blows, ranged firearms offering safer approaches, and quicker weapons encouraging aggressive mobility. This freedom creates experimentation opportunities that keep progression engaging throughout the campaign. Additional customization systems expand build possibilities even further. Destiny Cards, demonic abilities, outfits, and specialized equipment create room for players to shape their version of Victor according to preferred strategies. The game encourages adaptation rather than punishing experimentation. If a particular setup feels ineffective, switching approaches is painless and often rewarding. That flexibility gives Victor Vran a refreshing accessibility without sacrificing depth. Loot remains central to progression, but equipment upgrades feel meaningful because they influence how players engage with combat rather than simply increasing numbers. Discovering powerful items carries excitement because new gear frequently introduces strategic possibilities rather than acting as minor statistical improvements. Combined with multiple difficulty modifiers and challenge systems, progression maintains a satisfying rhythm that motivates continued exploration. Exploration itself becomes another strength. Areas contain hidden pathways, optional objectives, secrets, and additional challenges that reward thorough investigation. The game avoids becoming a repetitive march from one combat arena to another by consistently offering extra goals and discoveries. Completion-focused players will find plenty of reasons to revisit areas, while those focused on forward momentum can continue progressing without excessive interruption. Visually, Victor Vran delivers a strong presentation despite not chasing cutting-edge realism. The gothic fantasy art direction carries much of the experience, creating memorable locations filled with eerie atmosphere and demonic imagery. Lighting effects, environmental design, and enemy variety help reinforce the darker tone. Combat visuals remain readable even during chaotic encounters, which becomes especially important given the speed and mobility emphasized by gameplay. Audio design complements the experience effectively. Weapon strikes land with satisfying impact, magical abilities create strong audiovisual feedback, and ambient effects reinforce the unsettling mood. The soundtrack supports exploration and combat without overwhelming the experience. Voice acting remains serviceable throughout, though storytelling rarely reaches emotional heights capable of leaving lasting narrative impact. Multiplayer cooperation adds another layer of enjoyment for players who prefer sharing the experience. Fighting alongside friends makes difficult encounters more manageable while also increasing replay value. Cooperative gameplay fits naturally into Victor Vran's design philosophy because varied builds and combat styles create opportunities for teamwork and tactical synergy. The game is not completely free from issues. The story occasionally feels secondary to combat systems, and some enemy encounters can become repetitive over longer play sessions. Certain players seeking massive complexity comparable to larger genre giants may also find the progression systems somewhat streamlined. However, these shortcomings rarely overshadow the core gameplay loop because moment-to-moment combat remains consistently entertaining. Victor Vran succeeds by understanding that action RPGs thrive when movement, combat satisfaction, and player freedom work together. Haemimont Games created an experience that rewards skill alongside character progression while delivering enough customization and exploration to maintain long-term appeal. Its faster combat systems and flexible character design give it a personality distinct from more conventional dungeon crawlers. For players looking for an action RPG that values mobility, experimentation, and engaging combat above endless grinding alone, Victor Vran offers an enjoyable journey through a dark fantasy world filled with monsters, treasure, and challenging encounters. It may not redefine the genre entirely, but it confidently earns its place among memorable action RPG experiences. Rating: 8/10

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 13: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

暗黑地牢佳作,还不错,玩进去也挺有意思
This game has one very annoying feature. And that is that every time you change zones the previous one respawns... do i want to clear the same area more than once... no. It can otherwise be considered a Diablo2 clone. But D2 only respaws zones when you restart the game. Not when you happen to sneeze like this game.
7/10
[EN]
Clearing the Spiders from the Dungeons
This is personally a game that feels much better when played with friends, although you can play it by yourself. The soundtrack is good. The voice acting is good as well - and you might find some voices familiar. The gameplay mechanics are easy to learn and you have the possibility to make builds/loadouts! [PT]
Limpando as Aranhas das Masmorras
Pessoalmente, acho este jogo muito melhor quando jogado com amigos, embora também seja possível jogarem-no sozinhos. A banda sonora é óptima. A dobragem também é boa — e podem reconhecer achar algumas vozes familiares. As mecânicas de jogabilidade são fáceis de aprender e vocês têm a possibilidade de criar builds/loadouts!
