太压抑了，还以为会是温馨治愈的合家欢日常呢。 剧情限于作品体量，长达30年时间跨度只是选取了几个节点，转折和结束得略显仓促。故事反映的文化冲击/身份认同/代际冲突问题算是老生常谈了，主角泰米尔移民一家三口和东亚家庭一个模子刻出来的，特别是女主角Venba身上处处是中国传统女性的影子，看得不是滋味。 做菜就是点点点，游戏体验不多。美术和音乐很用心。 玩完才发现🈶️简中汉化补丁和全成就攻略。之前py上1块钱的key，现在5块能收到，对南印度美食有兴趣的可以体验一下。

“Venba”，是泰米尔的古典诗歌形式，它承载着一个地区的古老文化。而这个叫《Venba》的游戏，讲的正是一个关于文化认同的故事，它想表达的东西，可能比“一个小家庭的悲剧”更大。对于独在异乡的“异客”来说，或许更能在其中找到共鸣。 故事里，父母为了孩子的前途而选择留在异乡。他们一直坚持自己的文化、坚守着故土的饮食和语言，并试图将之强加给孩子，却始终没法融入新的土地，反而跟孩子也日渐离心。 而孩子为了不成为别人眼里的“Little India”，为了表现得“正常”，从小就拼命躲避自己的根：带去学校的便当原样带回家，只说英语，只吃西餐，甚至不让父母跟去学校。种种抗拒最终只换来跟父母的渐行渐远。 所幸当孩子最终戴上当年父亲摔碎的眼镜，他终于肯回望过去，跟曾经叛逆的自己和解、跟独自回乡的母亲和解、也跟自己的文化血脉达成和解。 其实这很像我们经常感叹的“年轻一代不再会说家乡话”。上一代拼命想保留的根，有时却成了下一代努力想挣脱的枷锁。不过这终究是个人选择，无分对错。但愿每个人终有一天能跟自己达成和解。 只是我很认同这里面父亲说的话：“你说的语言、吃的食物、穿的衣服，都该由你自己决定。你不必为了我们去改变自己，但也请你不要为了其他任何人去改变自己。你身上流淌着一种美好的文化，如果只因觉得它“不正常”就与之割裂，那就太可惜了。” （原文是：The language you speak, the food you eat, the clothes you wear...Only you should decide that, Kavin. You don't have to change who you are for us. But just be sure you're not changing who you are for anyone else either. There's a wonderful and beautiful culture that's a part of you. It would be a shame if you chose not to be a part of it just because you think it's not "normal".） 游戏本身则更像是一个美术独特的动画短片，它的游戏性并不强。“做饭”与其说是玩法，不如说是串联整个故事的调料。不过游戏结束后很贴心地附上了完整的食谱，当然，只是食谱，没有自由做饭环节。但这个游戏的精美画风，让我对一直“嗤之以鼻”的印度饮食突然产生了一探究竟兴趣。 没有中文确实是一大遗憾，游戏的立意其实超越了“印度文化”本身，一个关于文化认同的故事很适合译介成更多语言去传播。但是这样一个游戏居然只有英文，连你们的本土语言都没有，何尝不是一种讽刺。

味觉和嗅觉能唤起记忆和乡愁，但本印度菜爱好者游玩是为了回忆起曾经吃过的香料美食hhh可惜美食的内容不够XD 没有特别喜欢的点没必要玩，毕竟不是免费游戏。 流程很短，做饭模拟的解谜很简单，需要一点厨房直觉。因为存档固定+没有撤回，所以全成就略微不友好（也可能怨我太能走神了）。 人物塑造有代表性，而且形象都很可爱，很多以小见大的细节，感情流动也非常真挚。配乐充满风味，剧情呈现和人物动态都很精致，总能调动起玩家的情绪和悬念。 开局就是“能丈夫&带病做饭妻子”的低血压治疗场景，但呈现上比较客观。全游戏剧情难能可贵地也是这一点： 可以忠实地反映制度性问题——即那些哪怕基本上作为一个好人/找到了一个“好男/女人”、却仍然要面对的困境，无论是家庭的还是社会的。“他们都是很好的人”这种理由无法为制度性问题开脱，但好人可以为情况改善付出努力。 身份认同、乡愁、个人与群体的边界，这些问题对任何人都非常重要。但游戏里没有过多地探讨，只是淡淡的怅惘和释然……

If you're a child of immigrants, play this game, cry a bit, and then go hug your parents.

Been a while since I last reviewed a game... but this game... this is not a game its an emotional story about culture and fitting in. Highly recommend

heartfelt narrative about preserving culture, struggles of an immigrant family, and the conflict of adapting to a different environment while staying true to your roots. really beautiful art style (the food is so mouthwatering) and catchy soundtrack, both set the tone of the game really well. it did feel a bit too short and i think it could've been longer with more recipes/cooking minigames. overall a really touching game.

This is such a beautiful game. I cried through 90% of it, hugged my mom a lot, and talked to her about her experience raising my brother and I alone after moving so far from her home. I think this story will hit home to anyone who has parents or family who have moved mountains for people they love in ways that are difficult for even their kids to understand. Finished this in one sitting, so make sure you have a few hours and napkins, because this game deserves the time. TIP: If you want to complete this game by obtaining every achievement the first time then check the guide. I had to replay the game quickly, skipping the dialogue this time around, to complete the achievements I missed the first time. The guides won't spoil anything, I'm pretty sure. For developers: the little icon when playing the game that pops up under discord rich presence is blurry and proportioned incorrectly. Otherwise, 10/10 phenomenal game.

A touching short story with some cooking elements about immigration and culture through the eyes of food. Played it on my steam deck and had no issues during it. The game is really short so I'd wait for a sale to grab it as it only takes 2 hours ish to 100% the whole thing and get all the achievements.
