I am legitimately furious I did not play this game when it came out. I don't want it to age like a fine wine! Inject the adrenaline into my veins! I want games to ram spaceships into enemy lines! I want games to throw huge mechs with an unreasonable number of missiles at me! I want games with bullet time that allows me to increasingly showboat ways of executing enemies just for the raw pleasure of doing so! I want to tell the fat lady who sings to shut the h*** up I'm smoking now! And GOD this game delivers!
Oh Vanquish, how you take me back to just being a girl borrowing her Dad's XBOX again. I appreciate it more now of course, seeing that I actually understand what I'm doing instead of running around shooting walls.
Mgrr and bayonetta vibes. Combat feels great in vanquish. Getting all achievements felt engaging--there's never a dull moment. Very worth checking out if you like fast paced action games.
I used to play this game when I was really young, it was literally one of the very first games I ever played and I never forgot it. I decided to buy and play it again this morning, and I can still perfectly understand why I loved it so much as a kid. It has a very innovative style, especially considering it came out 16 years ago. Unlike the early CoD games and other shooters, it feels much more agile and entertaining. The graphics are great, aside from a few scenes here and there, but hey, it was 2010, so I can totally accept that. I highly recommend this game; I wish they still made games like this, or ones similar to Titanfall 2.
Juego Japones bien fumado, ya se le notan los años, pero se sigue mirando bien. 8/10

greatest third person danmaku ever made cosplaying as the greatest cover shooter ever made
"Your last year's model" I remember playing this when it first came out on Xbox 360, and I could not get enough of it. It has always had a place in my heart. This game is almost nonsense, shooting violence with some story and plot that almost looks like you're playing this at those stand-up arcade games where you have a pistol connected to the machine. Once that section is cleared, it moves on to the next. However, this did it just right, with the abilities that your character has in your super suit slowing time down as you shoot, almost like the other titles of the "Mad Max" Series. I am not one for SEGA games, but the way they made this just itches that part of your brain to keep playing, with the potential to upgrade all your weapons and get the best times in each level. In my opinion, this game is dated; however, it has aged well. I would recommend getting this game only while it is on sale, not at the full asking price.
It's not a game with a lot of substance. Very stylish, sure, but the designs are also incredibly...busy. From the stylish spinning main menu that gave me a headache, to the completely unnecessary stylish suit that looks like futuristic samurai armor, the game oozes style, the kind of style that Japanese designers love when making games about America in the mid-2000s. It's all it has though. The enemies are the same from the beginning to the end, the mini-bosses get reused. The pen-ultimate boss is just a dude, he's big, but he's just a dude. The final boss is just 2 dudes. And then it sequel baited, and since there is obviously no sequel, I would say that the decision for not making a sequel from the publisher was the correct decision.
